Exercise is a key ingredient to being a happy and healthy individual. Yoga balls in the classroom can combine fitness, health and learning. Replacing traditional chairs with exercise balls will allow my students to engage core muscle groups while channeling their physical energy in a positive way, allowing them to be more attentive so that they may reach their full potential as learners. The Ikea plates are to keep the balls from rolling around and to keep our classroom safe. Research has shown that when students sit on exercise balls (stability balls) both sides of their brains are engaged and when the brain is stimulated it's more focused on learning. Providing my students with exercise balls will allow them to process new information better and concentrate while improving their posture.
