One area in which our students struggle is in writing. Our students have learning disabilities such as dyslexia which makes it very difficult for them to spell words correctly when they are writing. They tend to stick with simple words that they know how to spell and won't try to use more complex words in their writing. Looking words up in a dictionary is very time consuming for our students. With the digital spellchecker all they have to do is type in the word the way they think it is spelled and the spellchecker will give them the correct spelling. Then they can spend more of their time and energy on what they want to say instead of how to spell it.
