Students at my school have shown a strong desire to incubate and hatch birds as a part of our life science unit. Having access to a classroom incubator will allow me to bring this desire into a reality for our students. By having a small incubator donated, I would literally be able to bring science learning to life. As a science teacher, I am always looking for ways to incorporate meaningful learning experiences into my classroom. Many of the opportunities to explore real-world science are too costly to incorporate. My school has moved toward incorporating more STEM activities into the classroom and onto our campus, and I believe this project will be a great step in that direction.
