  • Idea Essentials

    Funded Sep 12, 2022

Thank you so much for the pencils and post-it chart paper. It is helpful for the students to be able to work together in groups, and then share their work.

When the delivery came, they were so excited to see what was inside. Due to the large size of the chart paper, they were so ecstatic because they knew that meant a group project activity.

We have used the chart paper for group math problems. This allows students to talk about their thinking and share ideas. Anytime students work together in a group, and they have to take ownership of their learning, it allows for deeper learning to occur. In order to be able to teach someone else, you need higher level thinking skills. Your contribution allows me to make those adjustments to my practice!”

  • Unique Like Me!

    Funded Apr 2, 2022

My students were so excited to create a person that looked like them. The hair seemed to be the most exciting part! The expressions of pure enjoyment they had today were priceless!

The plethora of choices in materials and the limitless ways they could add letters to the clothes, or buttons, or cut the shirts to look like them created a buzz in the room.

The longer the students had the materials around them, the more creativity was flowing from one student to the next. From googly eyes to foam shapes to creating shoes on their feet, my students enjoyed this spurt of creativity and creating community! Thank you!”

  • Essentials Needed

    Funded Aug 13, 2021

The pencils, colored pencils and notebooks have been a great resource for my students. Your donation has allowed them to have ample supplies in order to have some calm creativity time in our classroom.

Since the start of the school year, students have enjoyed creating mini masterpieces and sharing them with each other and occasionally sharing a few pictures with the teachers too!

Your act of generosity has allowed a space for students to use common items that some take for granted. You've provided an opportunity that my students and I are grateful to have been the recipient!”

  • Can You Hear Me?

    Funded May 4, 2021

Thank you so much for your kindness towards my students and I during this pandemic by providing two essential tools to learning. Headphones and wireless mice. Many of my students do not have these materials at home, and when they are in person learning at school, they are essential.

Headphones provide each student the ability to listen to videos that we share with the class. Sometimes these videos are directions from the teacher, other times the videos are presented as learning tools. The ability to block out the noise around you, and listen closely becomes an essential tool for learning.

A wireless mouse gives students the ability to use the mouse tool with ease. The students were so excited when I shared your gift with them. One particular student was so frustrated with the touch pad on his device, that he had almost given up. Once he used the wireless mouse, he became a new student who was engaged and excited to learn. Your small gift has eased a small burden for these students.

My students and I are truly touched by your generosity.”

  • Pencils and Sharpies to Get Our Job Done!

    Funded Oct 24, 2019

Thank you so much for providing joy and excitement with new pencils, colored pencils and sharpie markers! Many people take basic supplies for granted, and my students can now have that same feeling with supplies to complete our work. Later in the month we will use the sharpie markers to decorate kindness rocks. We will continue to spread kindness in our community in order to brighten someone else's day in the same way you have brightened it for my students! Thank you again for your generosity! Kindness Matters!”

  • I Am a Scientist!

    Funded Jun 13, 2019

Thank you for putting smiles on the faces of my students. They now stand a little taller and have more confidence. The lab coats have been a HUGE hit. It was great to be able to take a "professional photo" on the first day of school in a lab coat. The students were so amazed at simply wearing a lab coat, and during class, they are taking their work a little more seriously.

The stool is a welcome addition to my teacher working table. It gives variety to students to sit and wiggle a little bit during the day.

The wireless mouse is a luxury to use with the Chromebooks, as the students sometimes struggle at using the touch-pad when searching for information. It is the small additions that have had a LARGE impact in the start of this school year!

My students are off to a strong start with your support and we are truly humbled and grateful.”

  • PowerMyLearning Family Engagement Innovators Project

    Funded Sep 18, 2019

I am so excited to get this project off the ground and running! It will be the extra boost that my students, their families and I need to secure a strong home and school connection! Your generosity is uplifting and motivating to me! My students will be rewarded with the power of knowledge! Thank you for your kindness!”

  • Chromebooks for Participating in Science

    Funded Oct 24, 2018

Thank you so much for making such an important contribution for my students. The 2 Chromebooks and headphones have allowed my students ease of access to technology. They are always in use, and my students feel comfortable using the Chromebooks. The ease has been so important for many reasons. I have students who struggle with reading, and use the Chromebooks to listen to the readings that other students are reading independently. This allows them to contribute to our science discussions. I also have students who are just learning English, and this allows them to listen to the readings as many times as possible, while following along to learn and practice content vocabulary.”

  • Universal Designed Seating Options in Science

    Funded Mar 2, 2018

Thank you so much for funding my project. The new seating options are a big hit with my students. I teach 4 different classes, so many students get to enjoy more comfortable seating with the fidget seat. This seat allows students to sit in 2 different ways, and provides options to move the seat and have additional working space. This has brought excitement for class, because the students are relaxed when they feel comfortable and are able to complete their work.

The rulers and fidget toys allow me to offer choices to students. This is important because not all learners are the same. Each student has different needs and your generosity has allowed me to offer flexibility and options for my students. The excitement on their face shows how much happier they are in class. This may seem like a small gesture, but let me tell you, it is not.

I cannot thank you enough for your generosity and funding my project. You have helped me provide options that I didn't have before. My students and I say THANK YOU!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Paolino

  • Let's Get Some Graphic Novels!

    Funded Jan 31, 2017

Thank you so much for funding our project. I have noticed that the students are excited to read the graphic novels. They have begun to notice the conversation in the texts, thanks to the addition of these new books in our classroom. When they come to school they are always asking to read our new books. They have become the most popular books in our classroom library!

It is so exciting to see kids dive into the books and be excited to share the books with each other. The smiles and excitement on their faces are great to see. We are so lucky to have benefited with these new books in our classes. If it wasn't for the additional funding, my students wouldn't have the opportunity to read graphic novels that are interesting and fun to read.”

I teach in a high poverty inner city school. My school is an old brick building built in the early 1920's and it lacks the space for small groups with access to technology. My students are eager to learn and have discussions about humanities topics that interest them. They are very limited in their access to technology, so an iPad to use in our small group will be extremely beneficial to help them succeed.
