My day consists of pulling individuals and groups of students for work in my classroom. My students sometimes need breaks in their day to help them succeed and do their best learning and work in the general education classroom. At some points in my day, I have 2-3 students that may need a calming spot in my room. I also have groups and more than one student in my group will need an alternative form of seating. This donation will provide a safe spot, a calming spot, and a different option of seating for more than one student at a time. My job is to level the playing field for my students and help them grow. If I can give them different ways to support their growth, then I am doing my job. The beanbags are used when my students a need a break. They are a different option and could be more comfortable than a chair. The bean bags are a getaway from their "normal". Many students sit in chairs all day, so taking a break in a chair may not feel like a break. The cando ball chair and runtz ball chair are for my students with a little more energy. Many times we constantly tell a student to sit down, be still, etc. What if they just can't. These two objects provide students a different source to release that energy while staying in their space and still doing their work.
