Let The Kids Play
Funded Sep 13, 2013Thank you very much for supporting the "Let the Kids Play" project. The balls arrived a couple days ago and right away we took a group of students out to test them. They were very excited.
This week we are planning a reward period and any math student that has all their work turned in gets to go out for a class period to enjoy the new balls. We are also planning another AWTI (all work turned in) day with all 300 7th graders next week and so these balls have already seen some good time.
I am so thankful for all the support and kind words from the donors. Words can't begin to express the gratitude that I feel. Students are so excited and I have definitely seen an increase in homework completion. One student even brought in 5 missing assignments today just for the chance to play dodge-ball. Thanks again for providing such a motivator.”

Can I Borrow A Pencil Please
Funded Mar 29, 2013Thank you very much for all the wonderful pencils, pens and supplies. My students are so excited that we now have pencils to get us through the year! Donorschoose.org has been such a wonderful blessing and without generous donors like yourself, so many terrific things would not take place in the classroom.
The pencils came at the perfect time, we were giving the state assessments and I had just used the last box of pencils I brought from home the day before. It was nice knowing I didn't have to look around to make sure everyone had a nice pencil with an eraser to use when testing.
Thanks again for the kindness. My class is extremely lucky!”

I Would be "Crate"ful!
Funded Nov 16, 2012Thank you very much for providing materials for my class to use to enhance the organization of my room. Many of the students will benefit from the structural help. I am so excited to be able to provide appropriate supplies to students and teach them how to better manage their materials. The day the packages arrived I had two boys ask if they could stay after to help set the materials up. They were so excited and I was proud watching them.
We are fortunate to have such great sponsors and support. Students really do want to be successful and your kindness has given them one more tool to help with their organization.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart. My students will make you proud with their improved homework organization. They now have a place to store important documents to share with parents/guardians at conferences and to take home at the end of the year. Thanks again!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Charipar
Let the Games Begin!
Funded Sep 13, 2012Thank you very much for the generous donation that helped to fund "Let the Games Begin." This Friday we are planning our first reward period in which the students will get to use the games first hand. The students are so excited and I have seen a lot of missing work come in because everyone wants to enjoy the new games.
I plan to use these games in many ways. First, I will use it as a motivating tool for my math class. In addition to reward periods, I like to challenge my class to score 90% or better as a class on the district math tests. If they do this, they will get to play the various board games.
Secondly, our team holds occasional all work turned in days. Students that have all of their school work turned in are given an hour of free time in which to play games. The kids are excited about this new option with board games.
Without the kind and generous donation, our students would not get to participate in such a variety of activities. Thank you for thinking of us. We are so grateful and appreciative.”

This classroom project was brought to life by Kia Motors America and 7 other donors.Calculators Please
Funded May 6, 2012Thank you very much for providing 20 calculators for my class to use to enhance various math units. Many of the students I serve do not always have the appropriate supplies and were so happy to get to use the calculators already. I am so excited to be able to provide appropriate supplies to students in need as well as provide supplies for students not only in math class but in science as well. The calculators you have provided will allow my class and future classes to carry this tradition forward.
We are fortunate to have such a great sponsor. We are also thankful for the opportunity to challenge students and improve their learning experience through improved homework completion, especially in my low level class. You have also helped reduce the stress levels of some students who do not have the appropriate supplies to be successful in the classroom.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart. My students will make you proud with their improved homework completion.

Response to Intervention (RTI) Supplement
Funded Dec 20, 2011Thank you very much for funding the "Response to Intervention (RTI) Supplement" Grant. My middle school students have benefited from your generosity and will continue to do so throughout the school year.
My students began to use the materials the day the pencils arrived. It is amazing to witness what a simple pencil can do to help a child be successful. Although they have not officially used the foam balls yet, they are looking forward to the reward period next week to test them out. They did get a chance to play catch with them and were excited about this. Thanks again for providing them with the tools they need in order to be successful in the classroom.
Secondly, other team members are able to use the foam balls when they have reward periods. Students are excited about the possibility of challenging other "teams" in a fun game of tag ball.
With this kind and generous donation, our students will benefit the entire school year and beyond because your organization was willing to fund this grant. Thank you for thinking of us. We are appreciative and blessed. ”

A Trip Around The World
Funded May 3, 2009Thank you very much for funding the "A Trip Around the World" Grant. My middle school students have benefited from your generosity and will continue to do so throughout the school year.
My students have begun to use the materials that were funded in their science and social studies class. They are working on a rock cycle project and an Ellis Island simulation and have taken full advantage of the construction paper, glue, paper cutter and other materials that were provided for classroom use. Although they have not completed these first projects, it has been nice knowing that we can provide them with the tools they need in order to be successful in the classroom.
Secondly, other team members are able to use these materials for the students we share, thus making this a cross-curricular activity. Students are excited about the many options they now have in order to make a final project.
With this kind and generous donation, our students will benefit the entire school year and beyond because your organization was willing to fund this grant. During team planning time we are already talking about the next project we can have our students participate in. Thank you for thinking of us. We are appreciative and blessed. ”
