  • Wash Your Hands! Make Your Own Soap to Share Aloha!

    Funded Aug 6, 2021

Thank you for providing resources for my students to make bar soap. We learned about germs and good hygiene practices. The moment we made soap was meaningful! Students used the soap base, soap mold, mason jars, essential oil, and food coloring to create their soap for their families. They are very excited and appreciative to use it!

When my students first saw the materials, they were eager and curious about what we were making. They opened each box with laughter and giggles! It was full of joy!

Our next step is to share what they have learned with families. Via online, students will share why the washing hand is critical. It will be a meaningful time for both families and students.”

  • Becoming Wild and Lifelong Readers!

    Funded Dec 30, 2018

Thank you very much for your kind donations to the class. It has been an exciting journey for reading books with children.

First, students read "The Invisible Boy" as a class. Then, students wrote in their journals how characters demonstrated understanding with empathy. Also, they reflected on showing kindness.

Throughout the week, students choose books to read and write a journal entry. They love to share what they read to the class!

Most of my students enjoy reading for pleasure. We appreciate your kindness in supporting the students' learning.”

  • Show Me the Way to a Fun Learning Zone!

    Funded Mar 27, 2018

I am thrilled to share the experiences that my students and I have using the Chromebook charger cart and an easel. There is some positive impact on students when using their computers to create book talks on Google Slide to present to their classmates. Thus, the cart is helpful to us because we are able to charge all 10 Chromebooks at once. It is allowing us to have safe access when taking out and putting them back. The students are continuing to develop their visual, auditory, tactile, musical and spatial intelligence through using technology.

The safe learning community is benefiting all the students in the class.

As the easel provides ways for all students to read big books, it creates a positive reading experience by reading with classmates. The fun part is that students can easily reach and have access to the product.

One of the students, a curious learner, enjoys expressing his ideas on creating Google Slide. For the upcoming Mother's Day, the student kindly asked if he could use a Chromebook to make a Google Slide show for his mother. In fact, students do not have to wait until all the Chromebook is charged. They can access in a quick and safe manner because the cart is able to charge all of the Chromebooks at once.

I am so grateful for you kind and generous donations. Thank you for investing on my students' education.”

  • We Are Future Engineers, Authors and Mathematicians!

    Funded Apr 2, 2017

All of your generous donations greatly impacted the students' learning especially for my ELL students. They specifically need visual aids and picture books to expand their vocabulary. Thankfully, students and I have been using ELL activities sources to increase daily English vocabulary and to answer in complete sentences. Thus far, these resources are engaging for students because they are learning through picture cards and games. Biweekly, I use the ELL activities games as a small group instruction with non-ELL students. One day, student A excitedly said, "I want game!" These resources have been helpful in meeting students' needs in expanding the academic vocabulary.

My students and I excitedly opened each package with feelings of joy. As a matter of fact, student B exclaimed, "I can't wait till playing with the push and pull." Then, student A laughed and giggled as he saw the "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" story kit since it is one of his favorite books. Overall, my students were filled with joy and excitement.

The next steps for my lessons include using ELL activities and storybook kits as literacy stations to increase students' literacy skills such as reading and writing. I am so grateful for all your support in meeting my students' needs.”

  • Reaching the Needs of All Learners

    Funded Mar 9, 2016

    Dear Donors,

Thank you so much for funding my Reaching the Needs of All Learners project. Hands-on resources have increased student engagement in my classroom. We have been learning fractions, decimals and percent. Therefore, bingo and dice games has made a great impact in students' learning. My struggling students are excited to learn math which has increased their motivation. Their attitude towards math has become positive and fun. Also, these games has allowed students to deepen their understanding of fractions. It is great to students engaged in the activity.

My students were excited and amazed when they first saw the materials. They all came to the front when we were opening the boxes. They could not contain their joy so they started clapping and touching all the materials. Students really liked the dice and bingo games.

My next steps are continuing to increase student engagement in the classroom. I'm planning on creating vision board project with my students. Each student will create their vision board using crayons, magazines, tape and construction papers. I'm excited to conduct the project with my students. I cannot thank you enough for providing these resources to reach all learners in my classroom. Thank you very much.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Kwak
