Take Notes Like My Teacher
Funded Feb 9, 2022I am so appreciative of your donations you made towards my six graders. They are smart, funny, happy, smart-aleck, and most of all loved by their teacher. Since you have donated I am able to take notes directly on the document, highlight important key facts, box unfamiliar words, and define familiar/unfamiliar words. Technology in the classroom is a game changer. It provides students the opportunity to connect to resources they typically won't get in a normal school setting.
My students were so amazed at the different features I was able to use while presenting a new document. Instead of me switching from screen to elmo to projector, I am able to simply project because the information is on the screen. My students were able to keep up and take notes like me.
Many students hearts were warmed after they saw the capability of the function of the computer. They were so involved and I was just a little afraid that they would get too carried away with the different components and functionality of our new computer. Again words cannot express how happy my students and I are. Thank you for your warm generosity towards my students and I.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Eades
This classroom project was brought to life by Black History Month Partners and 3 other donors.Dreaming With Your Eyes Open!
Funded Jan 4, 2017Thank you so much for your generous gifts. My students were elated to have received our new addition to our growing library. It is because of your generous out pouring we as a class have the opportunity to read a book that teaches empathy and that is relatable. Students could not wait to read The Fault In Our Stars. Before I could even tell them about the book, many stated they have already seen the movie. Some of the students began to talk about the movie, which gave me the opportunity to enlighten them on comparing a movie to a book. In their minds since the movie was good then they believe the book will be good as well.
We greatly appreciate our new printer as well. Seeing students wait in line to receive their publish writing that was shared via g=Google Docs, was overwhelming. When I told students our classroom now has the capability of being able to print our publish work, they were so excited. My students normally would have to rewrite their final drafts, now since you have provided us with a printer, it is easier for students to share their writing through Google Docs and then print it.
Thank you for giving Fairfield Middle Schoolers an opportunity to dream with their eyes open!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Eades
Reading is Dreaming With Your Eyes Open: The Dream Project
Funded Dec 28, 2016Thank you so much for the printer and the class set of books, The Giver. Since you were so generous in blessing our classroom with our wonderful materials, my classroom is moving one step closer to having up to date materials. I am so overwhelmed at the response my students had on their faces when I told them we received a printer to print our writings and a class set of The Giver. Their faces lit up and they begin to ask questions when are we going to start reading our new book? Some stated, can we start reading them now?
I told the students first we have to find a place for our new materials and I need to give you guidelines on how to handle the gifts that was given to us. We are currently, reading our new book! I am delighted in the fact that I can teach from this book the different literary elements and so much more. Students are able to take notes, hold discussions, work in groups, answer standard based comprehension questions, and challenge the author from their learning perspective. I love the level of engagement this one book has brought into the classroom.
Words again cannot describe the joy my students felt and the impact your gift has given my classroom. I took some pictures of students printing out their essays. I am able to complete the writing process with my students with a publish essay. I am so delighted students are able to not only share with me their work through Google docs, now they are able to print their work using our classroom printer.
Thank you again for your gift of love you showed towards my students!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Eades
