  • Looking for Fish in Trees

    My students and I are so appreciative! Students who were reluctant to read out loud or participate in class discussions were raising their hands left and right! Of all the novels we read this year, Fish in a Tree was the one with most student engagement. There were issues relevant to my students' lives and they had a lot to say about them, especially bullying and what it feels like to believe you're not as smart as everyone just because you struggle a little. I am both proud and grateful of this project and everyone's help because providing books that students can relate to will not only spark a love for reading but give confidence in areas where some students needed it the most.”
