My students are grade levels 9-12, and come from a low socioeconomic background. The school is over 90% Hispanic, and 99% qualify for free or reduced lunch. While parents are supportive of graduating high school, they are not as concerned with what the Academic Decathlon program offers, which is advanced educational success and entrance into university. Despite these financial and educational odds, my students work hard and stay positive in order to meet high expectations and goals.
