  • Today a Reader, Tomorrow a Leader!

    Funded Nov 6, 2024

THANK YOU for your generous donation towards my classroom library book shelf. I am so grateful; but more importantly, my students will be. Your generosity, support, and investment for my First Graders is so appreciated. My students will be able to enjoy this for many, many years to come and I can keep my book collection going!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Remus

  • Learning Fun Carpet Time

    Funded Aug 1, 2022

Thank you so much for giving us an opportunity to sit together and learn as one big happy classroom family. The students have been able to sit together on our class rug and conduct our math meetings, where we sit in a circle and do our skill building math problems to get our lesson started. We have also done our read aloud together and discussed the many books we read. Children have also used our rug to play in their learning centers. My students get so excited every time I call them to sit on the rug. I will continue to use this rug as a happy meeting place where we can all gather and learn together.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Remus

  • iLearn with iPads

    Funded Oct 26, 2016

THANK YOU so much for your donations. I was able to purchase an ipad mini and a cover with the money you sent it. I really appreciate you taking your money and putting it in the hands of these children to better educate themselves.

It made a huge positive impact on my class. It is such a great motivational tool to get them to complete their work so that they can use their ipad. Once they are done working they continue to use technology by going on educational sites. They get brain breaks and learn in a new way without even realizing it.

Certain children students learn in different ways outside of the traditional worksheets. This ipad gave those students a chance to advance by using technology to grow in certain areas they may be struggling with.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Remus

My students will use the iPads to enhance their daily learning. Having these iPads in the classroom would have a huge impact on student growth. The tablets will be used in numerous ways. First, students will use them during differentiated, center time. During this time students will use educational apps to increase individual and peer learning. They will be working on sight word fluency, phonics, spelling, reading comprehension, addition and subtraction fluency, calendar, telling time, and place value all of which are supported by our State Standards. The iPads will also be a great addition to assist with expanding our science and social studies curriculum. For example, we will use them to complete numerous research projects throughout the school year. Students work together to research different aspects of our magnet curriculum, for example to learn about the vast continent of Africa. iPads in the classroom will have a huge impact on student achievement in all subject areas. They look forward to the engaging AND educational games they can play independently or with peers. Students who are motivated will take the most away from their learning.
