  • Butterflies and More!

    Funded Nov 4, 2023

We did it! Thank you so much for your donations! What a great way to end the week. I can not wait to share the news with my students. They will be thrilled to hear about the butterflies and more. I will share pictures as well as thank you cards!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. cachu-rojas

This classroom project was brought to life by The DonorsChoose Community and 10 other donors.
  • Rocking With Rocks in 2nd Grade!

    Funded May 6, 2022

Rocking out with Rocks made learning about rocks "rockin'!" Students loved being able to have hands on the rocks. They were excited to use the tools to help with determining which rocks were which.

This project inspired many students to collect their own rocks and bring them in for examination. Many students also began to keep journals and notes on the rocks that they collected.

This is a project that will be used year after year as the love for rocks stands the test of time.

I appreciate your support and students think YOU rock!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. cachu-rojas

This classroom project was brought to life by Chevron and 9 other donors.
  • Writers and Mathematicians in the Works!

    Funded Aug 17, 2022

When my students first saw the boxes in the hallway, they were so excited. When we opened the boxes and looked at our new classroom goodies, students were in awe of how kind and generous our friends, families and good people (whom we've never met) can be.

We knew we would need help in assembling our white board, so immediately they enlisted our campus aide to help us with the project. They all stood around and watched, cheered and made themselves available to help.

Once it was complete, students were so excited to use the whiteboard. They took turns during math and writing time.

All year long, this project has helped thru all lessons. Thank you very much.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. cachu-rojas

  • Less Plastic, More Recycling!

    Funded Oct 4, 2022

This project has been a hit with OUR WHOLE SCHOOL. Our entire 2nd grade class (two classes) are now the official "Recycle Rangers." They visited all classrooms, grades K-8th grade and presented on the reasons they should recycle. They use the wagon when they visit classrooms and offices to pick up their recycling. They use the grabbers to pick up trash a few times a week. They take grade pride and responsibility in their job.

This project has also fueled a desire to have a teaching the community about plastic on Earth Day. Thank you for your generosity it has truly made an impact at our school.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. cachu-rojas

  • Headphones for Your Head!

    Funded Sep 7, 2022

Thank you for your donations. As many of you know, getting materials set for the classroom every year can get expensive and challenging. Being able to provide some classroom essentials is very helpful. I requested headphones at the beginning of the school year and the Donor's Choose community came thru again! Students have used the headphones all year long. They use them during reading time. Phonics instruction as well as testing. They take care of them and know that they are very fortunate in having their very own.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. cachu-rojas

  • Multicultural Books

    Funded Aug 1, 2016

I am thrilled and thankful! The project was fully funded. Our students will

Now have new books for the school year. These books are really special because they are different sets of heritage books, anti-bully books, heroes and heroine books, fantastic books. Thank you so very much! I can't wait to share pictures.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. cachu-rojas

Greetings, I teach 1st and 2nd grade to students in a heavily populated urban setting. We are a dual-immersion school- and resources in both languages are not readily available. Nonetheless, with the limited resources we do have students soar, reach and go beyond. These children are resilient and dedicated. I want to help grant them what they deserve- a fair chance in education.
