  • What The Heck is a Rekenrek?!

    Funded Oct 24, 2019

Thank you so much for your support for our classroom earlier in the school year. In the chaos of the holidays and then COVID, my thank yous are inexcusably late.

The items you helped purchase for our classroom have made a world of difference.

The rekenreks have greatly supported my students' computational fluency and made having visuals for distance learning achievable. It was so frustrating when the district changed the curriculum to include the use of these math racks, without giving them to us. Your support made this possible for me and I am so grateful.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Ashley

  • Replacing Broken Technology

    Funded Aug 30, 2019

Thank you so much for your support for our classroom earlier in the school year. In the chaos of the holidays and then COVID, my thank yous are inexcusably late.

The items you helped purchase for our classroom have made a world of difference, especially shifting into distance learning. I've been able to provide

My hope moving forward is to create a technology-integrated classroom. COVID has changed how teaching and learning happens. I think it's vital to have students and classrooms who can adapt to changes and shifts in how learning happens.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Ashley

  • Visual Organization Aids Order

    Funded Aug 10, 2019

Thank you so much for your support for our classroom earlier in the school year. In the chaos of the holidays and then COVID, my thank yous are inexcusably late.

The items you helped purchase for our classroom have made a world of difference. Students know where to find information, like our learning targets, or make use of the number bond boards.

My hope moving forward is to create more independent learning tasks using the visual aid tools you helped provide. If students are able to know in clear terms what their expectation is, then they will not need support from me. This allows me to be available for struggling students.

I appreciate all of your support.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Ashley

  • Classroom Basics!

    Funded Oct 24, 2019

I'm so grateful and excited to have your support! Pencils are the most fundamental needs for students, and unfortunately students go through a lot of them during the year! Because of your donations my students will get their basic needs met through the rest of the school year. Hooray!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Ashley

  • Organizing Classroom Libraries Is Possible!

    Funded May 13, 2019

Thank you so very much for your contributions and help in getting an organized classroom library! The school is shifting to using Fountas and Pinnell leveling systems, so having a library where students can go, find a bin with books at their level is a very powerful thing.

I have had students come to me and ask if we could go through our other library and make it easier for them to find books that are interesting. I call that a win!

I feel so supported by you and am truly grateful for all you do!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Ashley

  • Playing Games Is Social Skills Practice

    Funded May 24, 2018

Thank you so much for your support in getting our classroom both classic board games and collaborative board games. Too often these days, students are lagging in appropriate social skills that game playing takes. We've been enjoying taking time to work on skills such as perspective taking, cooperation and good sportsmanship.

When the package arrived, the students were very excited to see what was inside the box. We had a community circle and opened the box together, discussing why games are important and how to be a good sport.

Thanks you again for the opportunity to help these kids develop skills they will use for the rest of their life.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Ashley

  • Flexible Seating for Self-Regulation

    Funded Sep 15, 2018

Thank you so much for your support in creating a nurturing classroom environment. The flexible seating options make a huge difference when students are making choices in how to do their best learning!

When the boxes first arrived, the students were very excited! We sat in a circle and opened them together! The cushions and floor seating options were so popular that I had to create a system for students to take turns and share them! It really helps when the seating options are so popular, because they genuinely want to use them and make an effort to take care of them. Even the fourth graders love using them during our Reading Buddies time!

Because the seating is so popular, I will definitely be getting more as soon as I am able!

Thank you again for all you do!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Ashley

  • iPads for Small Group Instruction

    Funded Jan 25, 2018

Thank you so much for helping us gain this technology for the classroom. We use it to help students access online curriculum and aid teachers in dividing students into smaller, more manageable grouping sizes. This allows us to give more targeted academic instruction to the students who need it most.

Having additional iPads allows has excited the students because they love accessing the online database of books we have through Epic! reading. It gives them access to thousands of books and online learning videos to extend learning.

Thank you again for your generosity and kindness!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Ashley

  • Headphones that Work

    Funded May 16, 2016

Thank you so much for your support in helping my students. The new headphones are an amazing addition to our classroom. Students are now able to accurately listen to and engage with the online computer programs, as well as block noise that makes learning difficult. Students enjoy using the computers to type up their work and do their intervention curriculum.

Students have been using the headphones to block out the noise of other students when they struggle with emotional regulation.

I really appreciate your kindness and consideration. It's made a world of difference.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Ashley

  • Sensory Tool Kit to Help Self Regulation Skills

    Funded Oct 10, 2016

We have completed funding for our project! We couldn't have done it without your generosity and support!

Our class will now be better stocked with sensory tools to help my students self-regulate more independently. We have needed these tools so very desperately and because of your kindness, we have them.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Ashley
