  • So, This Is What a Cell Looks Like!

    Funded Jul 27, 2011

Thank you for your generous donation. Working in today's environment, with so much money being cut from education, it's been hard trying to get materials and equipment that will enhance classroom learning.

These micro viewers , which you helped purchase, help so many of my students with their last lab on the cell. I find that many of my students have a hard time using actual microscopes. But because these micro viewers are simple to use and come with great slides to look at, my students spend less time focusing and looking for cells; and more time observing and learning about cells. I can't wait to use them again when we do our cell division lab.

Once again thank you. Your donation will not only help this year's classes, but for many classes in the future.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. LaFranca

  • Hey Mom, look at these genes!!

    Funded Nov 14, 2009

I would like to take this time to thank you for your generous donation to my class project. I apologize that my "thank you" letter is so long over due, but I want you to know that your gift has made an impact on my classroom. As I noted in my project summary, my goal is to have my students break away from paper base labs. Instead, I want my students to have first hand experience with real scientific equipment. Scientific equipment make the labs more meaningful to my students, and hopefully give them an appreciation for science. So once again, thank for your support.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. LaFranca

  • Lets Take a Closer Look Inside Mr Frog & His Friends

    Funded Apr 28, 2009

Thank you for your generous donation in the purchase of microscopes for my class. These microscopes the you helped purchase will open up a new world to my students. Many of my students have never used a real microscope before. These students are used to lab reports based on paper cut outs, coloring or making observations from a PowerPoint slide. By having these students use real scientific equipment, I hope to caption their attention and interest in biology. Once again, thank you very much for your help.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. LaFranca
