Portable Chargers for Interactive Learning Using Technology
Funded Nov 5, 2022Thank you so much again for your generous donation! My students have benefitted from these portable chargers every day. As we're using more technologies in teaching and learning inside the classroom, students are require to have working iPads or Chromebooks to do activities on a variety of different learning platforms. These platforms including but not limited to IXL, Zearn, Blooket, Nearpod, Edpuzzle, Kami, Desmos, Kahoot...etc.
My students are excited about the portable chargers because they will never missed out any learning opportunities in class due to low battery on their iPads. Can you image a student missing a chance to participate in a fun learning game with classmates on Blooket or Kahoot, or missing an opportunity to be creative with an interactive activity on Desmos, or participating in an interactive live lesson on Nearpod? With the portable chargers available for them in the classroom, their learnings will not be interrupted.
Not only my students in my math classes found the portable chargers to be useful, but also students from other classes like History or English. They often borrow the portable chargers so that their learnings in other classes can be continued without interruption.
Again, on behave of all my students, your donation is greatly appreciated!”

Mathematical Reasoning Proficiency (Common Core)
Funded Dec 16, 2017Thank you so much for donating the much needed supplement materials to my math class! These common core math practice workbooks and books have really provided extra practices to my students, helped them to develop their mathematical reasoning skills, and inspired them to look at math with a different perspective. Math is not just doing calculations, drilling skills, or memorizing formulas.
I would like to share some of the comments my students made after they have gotten a few chances to investigate linear relationships, analyze mathematical concepts, and solving complex math problems. Min said, "These activities helped me plan in advance and study for tests. It was really nice to get some extra practice since I needed it." Dominick said, "It gave me a lots of examples and practices that helped me to get used to solving problems require higher thinking skills." John said, "Those activities helped me improve and expand everything I know. They taught me how to solve problems and helped me understand the topics better." CeAire said, "It helped me look deeper into my thoughts and reach more in understanding problems."
A struggling student wrote in her reflection, "I think these practices and activities were very helpful, especially when working with group. It was difficult at first for me, but I think it helped improve my skills." Last but not least, another active learner, Amina shared, "These programs help me in learning and mathematical reasoning because it guides me and helps me practice on what I need to work on. When I use them, I learn how to actually do the problems. I also understand the formula and equations. With the help of the practices, I soon master my weaknesses."
As a teacher, I am very pleased to see my students grow and become a better problem solver. I can not say enough how much I appreciate your generous donation!”

Novelty Project Materials for Math Class
Funded Apr 7, 2016Dear Donors:
Thank you very much again for donating the materials to my classroom! My students were really excited when they saw all those colorful papers, card stocks and posters.
My students and I used the resources in several areas: 1. we used the colorful papers to create various foldables to make note-taking in interactive notebooks organized and fun. 2. students used the colorful papers to refine their notes and integrate their learning in their notebooks in creative ways. 3. Students used the Cardstock and poster papers for various projects.
My next step is to continue using the resources for interactive notebooks, creative book making (for presentation), and various math projects. Cardstock will be useful when students are in Geometry unit. Students can use them to make 3-D figures and to build models.
On behave of my former and current students, we are forever grateful for your generosity!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Lam
