  • Make a Mark with Markers

    Funded Mar 20, 2022

This donation has allowed my students to make beautiful images. We practiced making sketches while learning to sketch the human form. The students practiced making shapes and then we were able to combine the shapes to create human figures in motion. That was the main component that we made a goal to strive for.

Finally, after completing the human figure in action, the students will apply the action hero they selected. They create the costume over the figure in action drawn. This is where the markers come into play. The markers were used to make the sketches come to life. This is where you the donors have made all the difference. Thank you very much”

  • The Brush is Mightier than the Sword!

    Funded Nov 10, 2021

It brings me great pleasure that the students were able to use the brushes to paint their signs and lettering. Because these brushes were decently manufactured, the brushes allowed my students with practice, make great signs that have the straightest edges. We used two types of brushes. We used a size 5 and a size 10 flat sable brushes.

The sable brushes allowed my students to build confidence and for some who had make-up experience, create beautiful straight and curved edges that make any art teacher like me extremely happy. Thank you for your donation that has made a big impact for my students.”

  • It's All About the Base!

    Funded Dec 15, 2023

I want to say that this project was a very difficult and daunting endeavor. But for my students, it was fun but a very challenging project. The spray paint was important for the sculptures to look very complete as a work of art. The base needed to be neutral as to not take away attention from the sculpture itself. They needed to be neutral so I decided to have all the bases be spray painted black.

The students worked so hard on their sketches and then the students and I worked on bending and twisting the wire as to make the wire stronger but still pliable. Students have never made a sculpture out of clay and wire before so it was an interesting experience for them. This is why projects like this have an impact for students. It is the process not the final result that is important. The critically thinking involved is what molds minds within the arts that can then be applied to other disciplines.”

  • Safe to Cut !

    Funded Oct 26, 2022

Thank you so much for donating to my project. Without these donations, this project would've never happened. The donations made possible the use of these ceramic blades that are amazingly safe and easy to use. My students struggled a bit but then they got the hang of how to hold the blades at the correct angle. They are able to make a geometric stain glass window using various colors.

The windows are designed with many negative shapes that needed to be cut out and then using different colors of tissue paper, they then glued the pieces. This project is definitely a winner. I had the inspiration for this project when I was in college. The largest obstacle was the safety issue which was solved by using these ceramic cutters. Thank you donors for making this possible.”

  • Just Add Water

    Funded Mar 12, 2022

It it with great pleasure that I write this letter of impact. The children had a blast with the watercolor supplies. They were so excited and had fun creating their images. It is only possible because the people who generously donated to the project.

When kids hear that strangers and organizations helped and chipped in donations, their faces light up with joy because they know it was for them. My students were thrilled when they got to see the supplies for the first time. They wanted to use the materials right away but we had to practice and learn how to use them first.

Thank you is not enough to express my teacher soul feels.

    Thank you.”

  • Where's the Print Button?

    Funded Nov 10, 2021

My students had a great time working on the project. The materials needed to be replaced. I ended up switching the materials to color pencils. These were high quality color pencils. I shifted gears which is what teachers do. I had the kids crop a photo of various forms of transportation and had them draw to scale a cropped photo of said form of transportation. They practiced using prismacolor colored pencils by using many CP exercises. They were able to blend high quality images by maximizing the features of prismacolor which are very creamy to blend. The students were very satisfied and were happy with the result. Thank you.”

  • To Spray or Not to Spray!

    Funded Apr 21, 2022

The project was very inspiring. The students did have to put in a lot of work in their projects. They worked hard and they were able to create their stencils. It was great to see the students putting real effort into doing some artwork. Not because of a grade but because they wanted to.

The applying the newspaper as a base was very time consuming but once the newspaper was layered, they were able to start cutting their stencils. Once the background was done, they were able to use a large sheet of metal behind their work, and use small magnets to hold their stencil without moving with the airbrush gun.

The kids did a great job and were very happy. Thank you.”

  • Mix Me Some Mud please!

    Funded Mar 28, 2023

Wow, This was an amazing turn around. I saw that donations were doubling. I looked at my email an by lunch time it was funded. It is amazing after every project I pose over the years, it still amazes me that people around the nation care enough about students to enhance their art education. It is because of people like you that make this possible. Thank you.”

  • I Left My Sculpture Somewhere...

    Funded Oct 11, 2022

Having a place for my students to have to store their 3D is a game changer. Now my class can do bigger and better 3D projects. This is because of the new plastic shelving that the donors have made it possible.

My class is called Intro to Art and Drawing. Because of the storage issue, my students could only do small scale 3D projects can now work in a larger scale. I have 200 students so being organized is a key to my classroom management.

Having the large plastic shelving in my classroom, allows me and my students to think big and now we can do it.

    Thank you.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Pastora
