  • Bridge to STEM Skills

    Funded Jan 8, 2024

Thank you so much for donating to my students. Being able to give students opportunities to learn about topics they are interested in is amazing. My students really enjoyed learning about bridges by both reading about them and by being able to actually build a bridge.

Through this experience, my students gained an understanding of what makes a bridge strong and what the weaknesses are of the bridge. When the Baltimore Bridge collapsed, my students had a first hand understanding of bridges and could better understand what happened to the bridge.

Thanks for your support and for believing in my students.”

  • Science World Magazine

    Funded Jan 5, 2023

Thank you so very much for supporting my students!! This means the world to me and to my students. I can't wait to start reading current event articles with them. This will really help them see the connections with what we are learning in class and the "real world".”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Carver

  • Colorful Books Inspire Learning

    Funded Dec 6, 2018

Thank you so much for supporting my students! When new books come to the classroom, you can see the curiosity being sparked in students. These books are colorful and break down complex topics so that my students are better able to understand the topic. This has allowed my students to feel more confident in their learning and builds self-confidence. This is most impactful in middle school when the science curriculum begins to delve deeper into scientific topics.

The books were used during regular classroom instruction to help students become more interested in the different topics. Students even asked to read the story books when they finished assignments early. These books really helped enrich my classroom and my student's experience in the science classroom.”

  • Learning Chemistry is Better with Posters, Picture Books, and Games!

    Funded Aug 12, 2017

Thank you so much for your generous donations! My students had a blast learning about chemical equations through games. The games really helped make the boring concepts of balancing chemical equation come alive. Students began to understand how elements combined and how they could be broken up while playing the valance card game, which was hands down there favorite game. My students also enjoyed looking at the chemistry books and seeing how the elements on the periodic table relate to their lives. The posters really made the classroom a more cheerful place for all students to learn!

Thank you again for your amazing generosity!”

  • Goldfish Aquarium for 7th Grade Science!

    Funded Oct 8, 2016

I am deeply grateful to have a fish tank in my classroom. From the moment that the supplies arrived and the students set up the tank, my students have been excited to come to class. The students had a blast setting up the tank and preparing for the fish to arrive!

Once the fish arrived, the students were so thrilled! Every time the students come to class they always want to check on the fish and see what they are doing. The fish tank has really brightened up the classroom and helped my students be more engaged.”

  • New School Year Calls for New School Supplies!

    Funded Aug 25, 2016

Having a classroom well stocked with basic school supplies has facilitated my student's learning. Having a supply bin for each table has helped avoid the issues of students not having writing implements, and allowed my students to focus on learning. The interactive notebooks are going well, and the students seem to take great pride in their work and how their notebooks look. The glue, tape, markers, crayons, and colored pencils have really helped my students create beautiful notebooks that showcase their learning. This year is off to great success thus far thanks to all the support.”

  • Food and Genetics

    Funded Mar 7, 2016

    Dear Donors,

Thank you so much for your contribution! This project would not have been possible without you.

For the last two months or so, we have spent a great deal of time talking about food and genetics. All my students have had an opportunity to read Omnivores Dilemma and to also select an additional book about food. This allowed for my students to take some ownership of their own learning and to see the connections between what they were learning in the classroom and their own lives.

I am so grateful that you believed in this project and my students. I plan to do this project for years to come, so your gift will impact more than just the students I taught this year. Anytime I can find "real-world" connections to the course material my students are much more engaged and interested in learning.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Carver

My students are incredible hard-working twelve and thirteen-year-olds who are always looking to be challenged academically. Through no fault of their own, they attend a public school that lacks sufficient supplies for them to fully immerse themselves in their studies.
