A Printer and Laminator for Creative Writers and Artists
Funded May 9, 2017My class is enjoying being able to type and print off their stories and their poems. They were excited about sharing them with the kindergarten class and hanging them in the hall. They also enjoyed laminating their paintings. The idea of making them permanent was also pretty exciting! The kids will be researching bats the next few weeks and the printer and laminator are going to be busy! The students are planning some holiday projects for their parents and are wanting to print and laminate those! We are truly enjoying these items. Thank you so much from the 3rd graders!”

A Community of Artists
Funded Jan 8, 2017You have given my students the best opportunities in creating art! They are always asking if "they can paint today", they are so excited to be able to create art with their writing. We are currently getting reading to buy some frames to frame student's art work for gifts for our moms and dads! Thank you again for this wonderful opportunity to create in many ways. My students had never made prints before, I wish you could have seen their faces when they pulled their prints, they were so excited...the "WOW'S" were so wonderful! Thank you again. You have created the love of art for my students that will stay with them forever!”

We Love to Laminate our Projects!
Funded Mar 12, 2016Dear Donors,
Thank you so much for the laminator. My student are enjoying this so much. The first project we did was SO EXCITING! They made bookmarks for their moms or dads. The excitement of the bookmarks coming through to the other side of the laminator was awesome...so many 'AHHHHH''s and 'OHHHHHH''s! It was so cool for them!
Since then, we have used the laminator to preserve their writing for their portfolios, we have laminated art work, and even awards and photographs. They are starting to draw things at home and bring them to school and asking me to laminate them! This has been a great tool for them. They are so proud of their work!
I knew my students would use this, but the enjoyment and pride that I have seen is something I didn't realize would be so powerful with them. Thank you again for this machine. It has really made an impact o my students!”

This classroom project was brought to life by #BestSchoolDay and one other donor.Silk Screen and Block Printing in Third Grade
Funded Apr 8, 2016Dear Donors,
Thank you so much for all the wonderful art supplies. My students were so excited when they opened the boxes. This year I was lucky enough to loop with my students to their next year, so we are really enjoying all the paint already. As we get into October, I am planning on starting our silk screen and printmaking...they are so excited!
The supplies allows my students to take their writing to another level. They always ask we now if they are going to draw and paint to go with their writing (how can I say no!). This is such a great opportunity for them. In these years of Common Core pressures, it is so gratifying to see the students be able to extend their creativity through the arts.
I was really excited a little while back when I was taking photographs of the kids and asking what they wanted to be when they grew up...so many of them said 'a teacher' or 'an artist'! Wow, you have really made an impact on my students. So many of my students are really interested in making a future for themselves, this includes college!
Thank you again!”

Smarter, Together with Science Technology
Funded Jan 7, 2016Thank you so much for the computer. The kids love, love, love it! They used it for their science fair research and were in total agreement that it is the most awesome thing we have in our room!
This computer opened a lot of opportunities for the students. Being able to research quickly, watch the videos as a team, and locate videos on experiments really challenged them to doing awesome experiments. The students were purifying water, doing experiments on how to keep water cool, and to locate something that is be colder than ice. They discussed how learning this could help others in 3rd world countries. Pretty cool for 8 and 9 years old students!
Thank you again for everything!”

Supporting Struggling Students with Academic Rigor
Funded Oct 27, 2015Thank you for supporting my students and aiding them in their learning. The students really enjoy the option of using the i-pad to read, help them learn about phonics, and writing...yes writing! They are totally enjoying the writing process using the i-pad. I have students who struggled using a pencil, put have really taken off using the keyboard and the i-pad. Since it is small, they are able to move to different area of the room with the i-pad easily to work alone, in teams, or with me.
It is always so fulfilling to see students come alive when they are understanding and excited about what they are reading and writing. I have had more struggling readers become more active in conversations in the classroom as their vocabulary and understanding has increased.
Thank you again, this is and will continue to be great for my students!”

The Marriage of a Kindle and a Printer!
Funded Oct 8, 2014Thank you Greg Barnett and Anne for the Kindle and printer. The students have had a blast printing their reports, stories, and poems. They have used the printer for photographs and drawings for their reports. This has been one of the greatest things to come to our room in a long time! And the Kindle...what a fantastic device this has been for the students too. Enlarging the text and being able to highlight words is great for my English learning students. All the students want to be on the list to use it. Thank you both so much, you have really made learning so much more fun for my kids!”

Music In Our Classroom
Funded Apr 3, 2014Thank you so much for the CD player and the music! The kids love it-we listen to it during Social Studies, Writing, and even an indoor recess day! This is providing the kids with a great variety of music and they are having a blast picking the music from the selection you bought them. When I took the students to the St. Louis History Museum, they surprised the tour guide with some of the knowledge of St. Louis Jazz when they toured that area-I was so proud of them!
They also wanted you to know that Pearl, our hamster, loves it too. The CD player sits next to her and she pops her head out when the music comes on!
Thank you again!

Radio Flyer Bookmobile
Funded Oct 29, 2010Thank you again for the wagon. It has become our book mobile that travels to our five classrooms. The kids love to see it roll into their classroom on their special day! Last week I followed two students who were taking it into another classroom. That classroom broke into a loud whisper, "The wagon, the wagon.....!" and soon the kids were all around the radio flyer! It is really cool to see the kids excited about the books traveling into their classroom! Thank you so much again for helping us get the kids excited about reading!”
