Last year, we started a student-run cafe. The cafe gives opportunities for all students regardless of their level and provides a platform to learn many different skills. We need the kitchen equipment such as cookware and aprons, and lemonade drink ingredients, and materials to jumpstart our cafe this year. Shopping, cleaning, simple meal preparation, money management, and social skills are taught on a daily basis through the cafe. Additionally, we need sensory equipment for our students with sensory processing difficulties. It will be used to calm and relax students, as well as help them attend to tasks better. These sensory modalities such as the pressure vest and stress balls, will help improve their wellbeing, and the cafe materials will help them learn vocational skills.
