Sharing a cup of tea with friends not only allows one to enjoy a warm beverage, but also gives the opportunity to socialize, practice good manners and find out about far away countries. Each month, fifteen fifth graders will enjoy high tea in the library. Students will have the chance to try teas from around the world, practice good manners, locate new places on a map and globe and socialize during this special experience. Students will gather for 30 minutes to take part in our monthly tea party. Children will create wonderful memories to look back on, in this last year of elementary school, as they move on to middle school and high school. This project is easily sustainable for future fifth grade classes with minimal monetary expenditure.
