Thank you so much for all the kind donations. My students were very excited to receive all the materials. We were in need of a new printer to print students science projects. We also use the Building fluency cards to practice reading with fluency and accuracy for a minute. This fluency cards helped my students improve in their Dibel's district assessment.

I will continue to use all the materials with my new students next school year. This materials were needed and I greatly appreciate all the donors who made it possible for my students to receive it.

  • All About Books!

    Funded Nov 10, 2021

Thank you for all the kind donations. We received our books and my students were very excited to receive them. We did not have enough copies for everyone but with the arrival of our boxes there are enough new books for everyone.

My students have been enjoying reading our book, "Esperanza Rising" by Pam Muñoz Ryan. It is such a great novel and our students relate to the family and the story. They love the book and are excited for our read aloud daily.

We also received pencils and some materials that we need in our daily writing instruction. We were very fortunate to receive these wonderful books and extra materials for the classroom.

Once again thank you for the donations.”

  • iPad for Teacher!

    Funded Nov 16, 2020

Thank you so much for the kind donations that went towards an iPAD. I can't express how excited I was to use it during this school year. The iPAD helped facilitate my lessons online. I was fortunate to share my screen on zoom using the iPAD. The students were able to see my interactive slides throughout the lesson.

The students enjoy seeing a clear screen with audio for the interactive lessons. It has engaged the students in learning the concepts taught throughout the day and also participate more.

We were very fortunate to receive the device that was a life changer during this difficult year of distance learning.

I greatly appreciate the donation and how it benefited my class and many other classes that I will have.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Guerra

  • Young Artists at Home!

    Funded Aug 12, 2020

Thank you so much for all your generous donations. The art materials are being used by the students daily. They love to draw and color using their markers, crayons, watercolors and color pencils.

They were extremely excited to receive these materials and we cannot thank you enough for supporting my project.

I usually teach an art lesson a week virtually trying to incorporate a new technique or art skill. The materials provided really makes it easier because every student stopped by the school to pick up their string backpacks that I provided so they can have all their materials in a safe place. We definitely have fun using all the art materials to showcase our artwork.

Once again thank you for everyone that made it possible for my students to receive all their art materials.”

  • Wireless Microphones For Mariachi Performances!

    Funded Aug 6, 2019

Thank you so much for all the generous donations. The wireless microphones have been working very well during rehearsals. The students get to practice with the microphones and they are getting comfortable using them.

The students were super excited when we opened the boxes during one of our practices. The minute we opened the box we tested the microphones and the students love using the microphones during rehearsal.

The Mariachi students have been invited to perform in different venues around the city of Los Angeles and they sound better each time with the microphones.

  • Amazing Microphone Stands for Mariachi Band

    Funded Jul 20, 2019

We are so excited to use the microphone stands during our rehearsals at school. The students are practicing very hard because they have recently been invited to perform in various events in our community. The microphone stands make the students sing loud for the audience to hear them.

The students were overly excited to receive the microphone stands. When they came to rehearsal after school they could not wait to open the boxes and use the stands immediately.

We are going to continue using the microphone stands for rehearsals and for future events that do not provide microphone stands.

The students and myself are very grateful for all those generous donors that took their time to donate to our project.”

    Ms. Guerra

  • We Need Music Stands

    Funded Jul 18, 2019

We are forever grateful for all those kind donors that made it possible for the Mariachi students to have new music stands. The moment the students saw the boxes they were extremely excited to open them and start using the music stands right away.

It came at a perfect time because the students had a presentation in the community and we were able to take the music stands for there first performance.

The music stands are easy to open and close and they are very sturdy. The students music binders fit perfectly on the music stands and it doesn't fall when they are performing.

We are going to continue using our music stands for future events.

Thank you so much for all the support that we have received.”

  • We Need Ink

    Funded Oct 10, 2018

Thank you so much for all your generosity in obtaining the color ink for the printer. The printer was just sitting at a table and it needed the color ink to make our vocabulary wall look more exciting.

The students are so happy when they get to see pictures that are in color and it gets them excited to learn about the topic. We are learning about Sound in science and it is just more exciting to print the vocabulary words to match the pictures in color.

I also have an opportunity to print Science Certificates for the students every week and they just like to see their certificates printed in color, it makes it more meaningful for them.”

    Ms. Guerra

The Mariachi band is a group of 30 dedicated students from Kindergarten all the way to Middle school. The students practice once a week with a professional musician that teaches them how to play an instrument and how to sing in Spanish. Most of the students it is their first time learning how to play an instrument and how to work together. The majority of the students have been part of the group for over five years and it just shows how dedicated they are with music. The students have become very popular around our community and they get invited to many events around the city. For many of the young students it is their first time performing to an audience. All of the students in our school receive free breakfast and lunch so it gets their day started. The students come to school with a big smile and ready to learn.
