Photo Classroom Meets Real World

My students and I, appreciate your help in allowing our photo class to purchase professional studio equipment. We have been learning lighting patterns, and how to take studio portraits with low key and high key lighting. Because of your generous support, we were able purchases studio backdrops, reflectors and lighting equipment other camera supplies that have helped us take our photos to the next level. This equipment has greatly aided in the learning process, and given us real world professional practice with photography.”

I am requesting supplies which will provide many of the materials needed to keep students working with the hands on equipment as they learn about photography, editing, and displaying finished work. My students get to learn and experience darkroom film photography as well as digital photography, studio techniques and photo editing software. Photography gives students something tangible that they get to create and the excitement of holding a finished product. They learn skills that they can use after they leave my classroom and can use as a hobby or a career in the future. Students also get to share and talk about their work as we print and display their photos in the classroom and in art shows and competitions. Photography is an expensive class to run, but it teaches students important technical and creative skills that they can use throughout their lives.
