You were a part of that! Thank you! This is a difficult time in education and you are making a huge difference in the lives of my students. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you! Funded Aug 23, 2017Thank you so very much for supporting our project, "Let Me Wiggle!" The students in our classroom all have an opportunity to chose the type of seating that helps them learn best. Before this project was funded, we had one of these Hoki stools in our classroom of 18 very busy kids. It was difficult to decide who needed this stool the most, and we often felt that more kids could benefit from one of these stools. Now we have enough stools so that any student who feels he/she needs one to better focus has the opportunity.
The excitement when these stools arrived was indescribable! The room was a buzz of excitement as we opened each stool and pulled it from the box. Every student wanted to try it out and we had a "practice" session on how to sit on the stools appropriately and safely. When other teachers come into our classroom and see these stools in action, they are amazed. The kids are able to get the movement they need to stay focused on the lesson or activity they are participating in, and it's evident they are getting more out of each lesson every day. The best part is, these stools are portable and they can be moved to any small group area in the room so any student can use them at any time throughout the day!
My students would sincerely like to thank each and every one of you for believing in this project and believing in them. They will continue to benefit from these stools throughout the year and future second graders will as well. Thanks for making a difference!”

Funded May 3, 2009It is with great thanks and gratitude that I write this letter. Since receiving the listening center, portable CD players and portable stereo, ALL of my students have been able to participate in our literacy centers . Students who struggle with reading can use the listening center to enable them to successfully read books that may have originally been too difficult, and participate in book groups with their peers. Being able to respond to literature is just as important as being able to read it. My kids have developed confidence in their literacy skills in a very short time.
Often when kids struggle with reading, they do not have the opportunity to read and discuss rich examples of literature and work with peers that read at a higher level. This results in less motivation to read and poor self-esteem issues. With this listening center, as well as the portable CD players, my students have become confident and excited about reading.
They, and I, would like to thank you for your generosity to our classroom and school. This has been a wonderful addition to our classroom and we appreciate your support!”

Mrs. Sperle
