Based on district information our students are considered lower socio-economic or dis-advantaged. 90% of our students receive free or reduced lunch. However those statistics do not hamper the ambition or imagination of our student body. We do at times gaze out and imagine what we could do with more resources, with that being said asking the parents or parent participation is minimal due to the economic situation for our student body households. Our school can be described as a very hard stone with plenty of potential. The hard nature of our school comes from the culture that emphasizes on survival through hard work, college is a dream or a vision in most cases but far from reality. If polished through rubbing against other stones/cultures our students can remain hard and maintain culture but shine through a polishing effect. The rubbing or polishing effect can come from exposure to applied concepts such as Engineering, which are otherwise absent in most of our students vernacular.
