  • Basic Needs for All

    Funded Jul 6, 2019

Thank you! We were able to create 25 kits for families and students struggling through insecure housing to have toiletries regardless of where they might end at night. This allowed students to have their hygiene needs be taken care of. This allowed families to not have to spend their limited funds to meet this need. Each kit had toothpaste, socks, toothbrushes, hair ties, mouth wash, travel size shampoo, conditioner and were placed in discrete travel pouches in case students had to carry them in their backpacks.”

Students who lack a fixed, regular, and adequate nighttime residence often do not have access to basic essentials needed for hygiene. This project will allow our school to create baskets and bags for families who are struggling with housing. The shampoo, toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, etc... will be put into toiletries bags and offered to families. All the items are being requested in travel size to ensure it is not an additional burden for families to have to carry around. Families will be offered this at the beginning of the year and will be able to replenish as need be. This is in addition to the food pantry, laundry and transportation passes we are able to provide for them.
