The materials will be use to help our students increase their Knowledge, prompting them to be our future scientist. The books selected will expose and make students curious about animal life. They will have access to a library filled with interesting books. The purpose for using large print books containing vivid illustrations is to stimulate brain activity, resulting in increase curiosity and a desire to learn more. especially those who depend on visual cues to learn. They will benefit greatly from this science genre! With the tools, materials and resources provided by your generous spirit you will become our heros! In the field as a special education teacher, our students range from developmentally delayed to speech and language impaired. These materials will afford our students the opportunities to engage in art projects that tap into their creative minds. Drawing and illustrate facts they learned from the non fiction text is a fun way to experience and build knowledge on specific topics. Actively participating and introducing hands on activities will bridge the connections between topics learned and real life. Our students with developmental delays will be able to process and internalize information, resulting in increase participation in group discussions and conversations which is an area in which they currently struggle. With your help all of these goals can be accomplished!
