A World of Reading and Research through Amazon Fire
Funded Mar 27, 2018This project has helped my students in so many ways. My students are able to use the kindle fires in many ways. We are able to access a library of books. Students have an array of options to chose from through NYPL. They are able to watch documentaries, access library documents. For students who are economically disadvantaged I am able to let them take home the devices to complete work at home. Additionally, I am able to use apps such as google classroom with these devices. They can use google docs and an array of other applications to enhance education. These devices are extremely helpful in so many ways! Thank you so much for your donation.”

This classroom project was brought to life by Ripple and 2 other donors.Making Exceptional Citizens Through Reading!
Funded Dec 21, 2017Thank you so much for donating funding our subscription to the New York Times Upfront Magazine. The resource has been helping my students in so many ways. The articles are fun and exciting, but more importantly, relevant to be a more educated member of society. The articles has fueled many interesting classroom debates about controversial issues. Right now, in our class we are debating if free speech should limit hate speech. My students are becoming familiar with the constitution and their own personal rights. In a time where fact and fiction can be blurred the magazine is truly shedding light on difficult issues and is helping them develop important analytical skills. The magazine has also helped my students gain a global perspective on world issues. Students can read about the issues going on in the Middle East. The thing that I love the most about this resource is that the NYT Upfront includes multi-media videos that I can play for my students. It also has a lovely teacher's guide that has printable worksheets and discussion questions.”

Students From Low Income School Need Notebooks, Pens
Funded Dec 29, 2017So often in life it is the little things that make the biggest impact. Thank you all SO much for your donation. Words can not describe how much this small gesture means to all my students. When I told them how we received the materials so many of them could not believe that a stranger would care about them! Everyday when my students come to class, we no longer have to ask where their pen and paper is. Thank you so much for the notebooks. My students have been able to do journaling and have a place to write down their thoughts. We have also been incorporating meditative writing. The students have decorated their notebooks and have a place of their own to say anything they want to. Thank you again so m”
