  • Probing Deeper into Chemical Reactions

These probes will help us complete more hands-on experiments and will provide students with a deeper understanding of the role of temperature in chemical reactions.”

  • Shedding Light On Reaction Rates

    Funded Nov 8, 2023

    My students can participate in lab more safely and comfortably thanks to these new fog-free goggles. In IB Biology, they learned how the color of a solution relates to its concentration using the colorimeters, and they were able to the colorimeters to measure the rate of photosynthesis in real-time. Students will continue to use the colorimeters in IB Biology and IB Chemistry to design their own experiments to measure to rate of a reaction of their choosing.

    Because the colorimeters are digital, students can collect data more efficiently, allowing them more time to refine their experimental designs, and they are exposed to tools more similar to those used by modern day scientists. I hope this will inspire more of our students to pursue careers in STEM.”
