  • Fun Materials for Kindergarten

    Funded Oct 31, 2023

Thank you for your generous donation to help fulfill the need for our fun materials. It can be difficult keeping the little ones engaged but with fun, educational materials, it makes the job a little easier.

My students LOVE having headphones that work to use with their computers. We spend time working on an educational program on the computer and many times the computer is reading to them, so before the headphones it was very loud in the classroom and the students had a hard time hearing their own stories. Now with the headphones, the students can hear what is being read to them and are answering the questions correctly since they can now hear.

Again, we want to thank you for your donation, without it, it would still be quite noisy in here.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Smith

  • Flexible Seating for Little Minds at Work!

    Funded Aug 2, 2023

Thank you so much for your donations, my students are loving their flexible seating to work! I feel that kindergarteners need to be able to move and have options when it comes to sitting. For most kindergarteners, this is their first time in a school environment and confining them to sitting in a "normal" chair all day can be difficult which can lead them to acting out and not wanting to work. Giving them an option on where to sit keeps their engagement up and they are more willing to participate and follow instructions.

Having the flexible seating also teaches the students how to share and take turns, a lesson that many students are still learning. The students are enjoying using these seats each and every day.”

  • Centers Are a Critical Part of a Kindergarten Classroom

    Funded Oct 18, 2021

Thank you so very much for your contribution to my project. My math and reading centers are so organized and very easy for the kids to use and put back.

My kids were so excited when they came into the classroom and saw the center put together and how they just had to grab a bucket and go to work.

My classroom is more organized now and it is less chaotic during center time because my students know exactly where to go, what to get, and what to do. It makes cleaning up such a breeze and the kids do not get frustrated as to where things go and how they should look. We are much appreciative for your donation to make our classroom just a little bit more organized.”

  • Books for Distance Learning

    Funded Sep 22, 2020

Your donations to help fund books for our reading curriculum has greatly impacted my students. When we read the stories, having the book physically in the classroom allows them to go back and look at the pictures. I have also heard students retelling the story by looking at the pictures.

Even though many of my students cannot read yet, I know they have comprehended the story when they are telling their friends about the story as they flip through the pages. Without the physical book in the classroom, this is nearly impossible.

Thank you for your donations so that my class can have the books we need for my students to have a better understanding of our stories.”

  • Pete the Kitty has the Hiccups!!

    Funded May 21, 2020

Thank you so very much for your donations! Distance learning with kindergartners is definitely a challenge and many of them did not have the supplies at home to support their learning. Kindergarten is very hands on and in order for them to continue learning, they needed supplies to help with that.

Dropping off the supplies to my kids and seeing the happiness on their face when they saw what they were receiving was priceless. Many parents reached out to thank me for supplying them with the supplies their child needed. Since the pandemic, many families have lost their jobs so purchasing school supplies was not a necessity so being able to give them some happiness by providing school supplies was very rewarding.”

  • My Students Love to Be Hands On!

    Funded May 1, 2019

Thank you so very much for donating to my project to help it get fully funded. My students and I use our new easel every single day for a variety of lessons from math, to CVC words, to writing out sentences. My favorite moment using this easel is when one of my students who had been struggling to sound out CVC words went up to the whiteboard and wrote out all the letters that made up the CVC word. She was so happy and proud to show off her work.

When my students first walked into the classroom after we received this project and it was put together, they were so excited to get to use it. I love for them to be hands on and they feel so important when they go up to that board. I love the confidence that it gives them.

I am working on putting together a future project for STEM materials. I believe that when students can be hands on it makes their learning so much more fun for them and they can connect what they are learning to what they are actually doing.

Again, I want to thank you so very much for your contributions.”

I teach reading, language arts, math, writing, science, social studies, and health. A lot of my material has to be presented to my students on a board. The way my classroom is set up, not every child can see the board from where they are sitting. The board that is in the center of the room has a SMART Board covering it. Unfortunately I cannot use the SMART Board without a projector. An Epson LCD projector will have a significant asset in their learning process. Every student will have access to my presented material without having to get out of their seat to look.
