I am a teacher of 20 years and for the past few years I have been teaching Science to the 3rd and 4th graders. Most of my lessons are hands on which keep the students engaged and questioning the world around them. However, now that we are mostly remote, the students have to rely on computer programs, videos and my demonstrations to learn science. The last 2 units of this school year are: 3rd: Forces 4th: Magnetism and Electricity. As you can imagine, that is going to be hard to teach online. However, I am looking to make little take home kits for the students so that when I do a lesson, they can be doing it at home at the same time. The challenge is in getting kits to about 250 students. I am looking for donations so that each kid can have a set of electricity kits (circuit, bulb, battery, alligator wires). I would love to have the students use real science materials at home!
