Developing a love for literature is critical in developing strong readers and writers. Students need to be exposed to a large number of books in order to develop the literacy skills needed to succeed academically. A listening center is essential in exposing children to books when the teacher is teaching a reading group. Children love to listen to familiar books over and over. As they listen to story they acquire a sense of story and they transfer that to their writing. The seat sacks will help students keep necessary materials at their tables, making our transitions smoother. Maximizing every minute of our day is important!
