Students will create crystals from molecules in the lab setting and then use microscopes to examine their 3D structures. This will tie into the unit on molecular structure. The compound microscopes will provide the magnification needed to view these structures. Once completed, students will have a better understanding of the crystalline world. Students will be able to apply what they have learned through this project to work in industry, medicine, and so many other future career pathways. This project will help my students see where a career in chemistry can lead them.
