  • Exploring and Learning In Our Own Way!

    Funded Feb 9, 2023

Thank you for supporting our class we were so excited to know that the items we need to keep us motivated and engaged arrived. The bubbles machine and bubbles allowed for the students to distress, and socialize with one another. Often my students struggle to talk but, when ask to do it in an active and fun environment they are overjoyed to come together. The chargers have allowed the students to use iRead a phonics program for the 20 minutes a day at there work stations. The student love have work time on an iPad with there peers.”

  • Jump Into the World of Reading Wirelessly

    Funded Nov 1, 2022

Thank you for your generous donation is the use of the wireless headphones has allowed our classroom to run smoothly without confusion, injury, and in tears for my lovely students. During our normal school day students are required to use an online research-based program called iReady twice a day. In the beginning of the year the school supplied just enough headphones for everyone in the class, but within two weeks the headphones started to fall apart. Within the next month, several kindergarten and first grade students had fallen over the wires or broke an iPad. This would happen when they got up out of their seats and forget to take off the headphones.

With the entire school using the same system and needing headphones it was not enough to replace the broken ones in my class. This caused half of my students to miss out on an instructional reading and math online for twenty minutes today. Today none of students no longer lose instructional time or feel bad when they are not able to use the iPad for the day. There are also no more accidents with students falling from their chairs or iPads breaking. The use of wireless headset for these youngsters is the gift that will continue to keep keeping on giving to the end of the school year and then again when they return in the summer. They love the different color choices they have they've also all learned how to operate a new piece of equipment and they value their personalized headsets in class. Excitement on their faces and putting on their headsets and learning is priceless. Thank you for this great change in our classroom setting.”

  • Positive Reinforcers Will Get Us to the Finish Line

    Funded May 19, 2022

Last school year my students and I needed sensory and calming toys to help them get through the end of the school year. The donations you all made a great contribution to our classroom it allowed the students to have relaxing time with items that made them feel in control. The sensory toys were also a hit in classroom management and gave them something to look forward to once they completed their work assignments each day. They were so excited to each have an item to work with when they needed or earned it during the day. Thank you for all of your support.”

  • Starting the 2021 School Year Off Right!

    Funded Aug 13, 2021

My students and I could not be more grateful for all the supplies. Teaching a self contanied 12; 1 classroom with both kindergarten and first grade requires an abundance of supplies. Having the snacks during for snack time for students who did not have has allowed every student to feel included. Having hand soap, paper towels and antibacterial all purpose cleaner allows for myself, colleagues and students to feel safe before during and after instruction. It also adds ease to the parents knowing I have proper PPE supplies to ensure safety.

This year having students who require many different instructional needs such as displaying color pictures, anchor charts, picture flashcards, and classroom labels provides more clarity and understanding for students when asked to do something or when they are trying to learn a new skill or task and all those things require ink and that what makes learning possible to happen. thank you for easing the burden for my students and myself.”

  • Tackling the 2020-2021 School Year Together!

    Funded May 4, 2021

I want to thank you again for your generous donations. Having this laptop has meant so much to my students and I. This school has been the year of the unknown and we never knew when a shut down would come and we all be faced with the task of working and learn from home in the blink of an eye. This year my students have been very patient and resilient.

When I our school had a any random shut downs which seem often during the first four months of school. I would be faced with teaching from my iPhone or a friends laptop. Having this laptop at home that I can use to teach my students has seen a blessing for them and myself. I love the feeling of no one missing out on a quality education whether at home or in the school building.”

  • Back To School Blended Learning and Reading

    Funded Feb 11, 2021

My students and I are very grateful for your donation towards our much needed classroom materials. Dry erase markers , and the erasers allows students to work productively during math instruction. The markers, crayons, glue and pencils have allowed project-based learning assignments to come alive with creativity.

When my students saw the boxes arrive to our classroom they where all wondering what was inside and I explained them then that they were a gift from individuals who want to see you succeed and achieve your goals .They were all very excited to have there own dry erase markers and not have to be told that I was all out. They were also overjoyed at the variety of colors that came inside the boxes of crayons and markers to do arts and crafts activities within our lessons.

Our next steps with the materials is create a Bulletin board presentation that goes along with our project-based learning assignment which is reducing our carbon footprint. Since to students are not able to share supplies this year the amount given allows everyone to have what they need in and out of the classroom.”

This year due to the COVID-19 pandemic my schools budget is very low. This means that giving students adequate personal learning supplies will not be possible. I work in the poorest school district in NYC. These families are in dire straits especially during these times. The lack of a school budget to accommodate my room with adequate supplies will not be possible. The families we service are not able to afford supplies and food for their families. We are trying our best to work with what we have it’s hard when the you items you need that are essential to help them get a good solid education are not available. We have so many things lacking these items, crayons, glue, pencils, colored pencils, and more, can help us give them that push they need. Any help and support is needed. The children need these items desperately. We need as much as we can to create a creative hands on learning environment. These children not only have challenges educational they also have challenges financially. Thank you in advance.
