Hey y'all! I am a first year teacher at San Antonio's only high school branch of the Knowledge is Power Program known as KIPP University Prep. Over the last few months here, I have learned a great deal about what it means to "work hard" and "be nice," as the KIPP San Antonio saying goes. These young men and women that share my classroom challenge me to be my best self every day and in turn, I challenge them to do the same by opening their minds to new ideas and asking the questions that will lead to discovery. In my classroom, we read subversive, modern literature and debate the issues therein. My goal is to inspire provocative thinkers, thoughtful leaders, and international citizens with a voice for change.
