  • Listen Up

    Funded Sep 20, 2023

This equipment has allowed me to continue providing my students with access to digital resources and content that make STEM learning more engaging and fun.

Students are now better able to explore enrichment and remediation videos to understand the topic at their own pace.

This is allowing students to be better prepared for the hands-on investigations that take place during class.

The squeeze bottles and have allowed me to store chemicals for upcoming labs. When students need "refills," I can simply squeeze some of the solution into their individual sample cups/beakers.

Thank you for making it happen!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Vega

  • Project Display

    Funded Sep 26, 2023

I am so very grateful for your generous donation to our classroom project!

We are currently working on our chemistry unit and exploring matter.

My students are taking on the role of chemists that have been exploring physical and chemical properties and changes of matter.

Having ink for our classroom printer will allow my students instant access to print their work to be displayed as part of a new project display board: How does matter change?

I am excited to start my next bulletin board and show off my students' work!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Vega

  • STEMTechnology

    Funded Nov 28, 2022

Having more advanced technology to create and deliver lessons and instructional videos for STEM class is extremely helpful!

This equipment has allowed me to continue providing my students with access to digital resources and content that make STEM learning more engaging and fun.

I am now better able to display work to the class using the Apple TV that I already have in the classroom.

During conferences, when I meet one-on-one with students, the larger screen allows us to view the notebook rubric and compare the student's work to the expectation.

Thank you for making it happen!”

    With gratitude,

  • STEM Organization

    Funded Nov 15, 2022

Thank you for donating to my project!

The storage items will help to keep our STEM class organized.

Pump bottles will help to distribute fluids when doing experiments.

Canisters and storage boxes will store powders, bulletin board paper and other solid chemicals/ materials.

Command strips and hooks will help to hang posters and bags of disposable materials such as plastic bottles.

The microwave will allow us to heat up fluids for experiments.

In an era where college and career readiness is a prominent factor in the teaching and learning process, STEM education is becoming more and more important. It is important to keep our STEM room clean and organized and this project will better allow for that.

I know that my students will achieve greater learning outcomes, given access to 21st-century tools and content that will encourage them to think deeply about science concepts.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Vega

  • Identifying Minerals

    Funded Sep 6, 2022

Thank you for bringing this project to life!!

I am so excited to complete this activity this year!!!

For this project, students will work to find the identity of unknown minerals by performing common tests. Each member of the group will work to solve "one piece of the puzzle" but only together, will the research team be able to accurately determine the correct mineral name. Students will recognize the importance of collaboration while relying on each other in the context of a real-world science scenario. After the science activity, students will work to identify a mineral that best matches a colleague's personality. For example, they might identify a student's bright, lustrous personality to match quartz.

Social emotional learning has become such an important focus since many children have spent the last 2 years out of the classroom.

Additionally, in an era where college and career readiness is a prominent factor in the teaching and learning process, STEM education is becoming more and more important.

I know that my students will achieve greater learning outcomes, given access to 21st-century tools and content that will encourage them to think deeply about science concepts while building on their own social and emotional skills.”

  • Testing and Identifying Matter

    Funded Aug 12, 2022

These materials will help my students to better understand how the physical and chemical properties of matter can help find the identity of unknown substances in a real-world scenario.

We have just started our physical science unit and I am very excited to have my students engage with the hands-on and real world lab investigations.

Although matter is all around us, students often struggle with this topic because they have not performed tests to help identify the various types of matter.

I am confident that these lab experiences will help students better understand the topic while exercising STEM and inquiry skills.”

    With gratitude,

  • STEM Class Progress Monitoring

    Funded Jul 4, 2022

Thank you so much for your kind words and generous donations!

SMART Notebook/Lumio is a desktop lesson creation and delivery software. In addition to providing tools for creating engaging presentation pages with text, images, and multimedia, LUMIO has enabled me to take my lessons to the next level easily by adding interactive activities.

On Socrative, I am able to post questions that require students to practice their vocabulary and literacy skills as they related to science. I am also able to quickly assess student understanding with prepared activities and on-the-fly questions, then adjust my teaching based on the results.”
