  • Help Cool the Overheated STEM Classroom

    Funded May 28, 2016

On behalf of our class, thank you for the donation that led us to purchase an air conditioner for our classroom. Our classroom definitely would have been as hot an oven had it not been for your generous donations. Because it is almost summer, and our high temperatures are in the 80s, it can be very uncomfortable to sit through an 80 minute class session in the baking heat. Keep in mind that this is not just for one group of kids; many class sessions take place in this room and different groups partake in them. So not just on behalf of the class, but on behalf of the entire grade, -thank you for the incredibly generous donation you made to help purchase an air conditioning unit.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Vega

  • 21st Century Learners STEM from Technology

    Funded May 25, 2016

Thank you for donating to our project!

We are so happy that we were able to raise money for these Kindle Fire Tablets. We were shocked to know that individual donors took an interest in our education and provided us with such amazing and fun science equipment! Our goal of making our STEM class more technology driven is finally happening!

Last Friday, we were able to share the news with the 7th grade classes. All of our classmates were super excited! We are looking forward to the last few weeks of school. The Kindle Fires will arrive just in time so that we can end the school year the right way. We know that we will be able to work on more station exploration tasks and do more online simulations!

Thanks for helping to make it happen!”

Thank you for donating to our project!

We are so happy that we were able to raise money for these animal kits. We were shocked to know that individual donors took an interest in our education and provided us with such amazing and fun science equipment!

Last week, we were able to show the 7th grade classes the preserved animal specimens. All of our classmates were super excited! We just finished our unit on body systems so very soon, we will be able to explore animal diversity using real animals.

Thanks for helping to make it happen!”

  • Circulatory System Advanced Study

    Funded Jan 21, 2016

Thank you for donating to our project!

We are so happy that we were able to raise money for these blood typing kits. We were shocked to know that individual donors took an interest in our education and provided us with such amazing and fun science equipment!

Last week, the 7th grade classes used the blood typing kits to test for blood types. We pretended that we were clinical blood technicians and needed to find a transfusion match for a patient. We tested 5 patients and found 2 matches for the victim. We were able to learn how blood types are tested for. Using antibody serums, we discovered that agglutination is a positive test for a blood type.

Although this topic was very difficult to understand at first, these kits helped bring the subject alive! Our class agrees that this is one of the most fun labs that we have done this year. Thanks for helping to make it happen!”

  • STEM- Stemming From Student Inquiry

    Funded Dec 24, 2015

I thank you so very much for contributing to our project!

My students were beyond excited when they received these materials and supplies. They were shocked to know that individual donors took an interest in their education and provided them with such amazing science equipment! "Laptops with HD screens!!??"

With these laptops, my students have been better able to EXPLORE how the human body systems work to maintain homeostasis. They are now taking a more active role in their learning through computer research and it is an overwhelming feeling to know that future medical professionals are in the make!

Your gift has empowered our students to discover how science impacts their everyday lives and although such biology topics can be abstract, they can be studied, understood, and are fun to learn about. Most of all, our students have learned that a community of people care about them and their education.

Collaborative and exploratory learning are key elements to STEM education and your contributions have helped drive my students to becoming the powerful Medical Explorers that I know they can be. Thank you for helping my classroom move into the 21st century.

Your generosity has truly made a difference.”
