This has been such an interesting year with kids struggling more than I've seen. Keeping kids engaged and applying what they are learning so that concepts are solidified. One of the key aspects for teaching kids with disabilities is differentiated instruction and practice. A great way to do that is to teach a concept and then use the concept and apply it in various ways so that the students take hold and understand it. I'm so excited to use this 3d printer to teach math art and other things I've been watching other teachers do over the last few years. Another thing I'm excited about is the building toys. I use manipulatives to help with behaviors (which are a bit tougher this year) as well as enhanced brain coordination. I was an occupational therapy aide for a few years before I started teaching and very much understand the benefits of building for brain development. Thank you, thank you, thank you for this opportunity!
