I am a middle school special education teacher in inner city Chicago. This is my first year as a teacher after a career change from the restaurant industry. I love to help my students learn to read! Many of my students are English language learners, without any reading support at home. The student body is lower income, with 100% on free and reduced lunches. Our school does not have a listening center, which would help our students with reading disabilities.
