Focus & Flourish
Funded Jul 27, 2018My students and I cannot thank you enough for your generosity and thoughtfulness. Your donations have gone to great use in our classroom from the moment our supplies arrived.
The students use the dry erase markers on a daily basis, especially in my guided math group during our center rotations. All of our new headphones are also utilized each day while students are practicing their skills in both Math and ELA in their computer center. Our privacy partitions are available every day for students who benefit from a more enclosed work space. In addition, every student uses one during times of testing. Lastly, our wobble cushions have been a tremendous hit for students who benefit from the extra sensory support that they provide. Students use them during whole group time on the floor, and also during independent work time at their desks.
The students are all working very hard on a daily basis. As a school we are putting great effort into boosting reading fluency. We are currently finding that we are in need of some more leveled books to choose from for both independent and partner reading times during the day, so this is where my next classroom project will be best utilized.
Again, I cannot thank you enough. The looks on my students faces each time new items arrived was simply priceless and the gratitude in my heart each day that they're able to utilize them is indescribable!”

Comfy Cozy Classroom Community
Funded Sep 16, 2016I cannot thank you enough for your generosity in contributing toward a carpet for our classroom. The increased warmth and comfort that our new carpet has provided for our classroom is unbelievable! Not only that, but the feeling that my students got when they found out that people who don't even know them donated money specifically toward their classroom to help them to have a more successful and comfortable school year, was the best part of it all! Some of my students come from situations that leave them in search of people who truly care about them, and without even meeting them, you have provided that for each and every one of them.
The day our new carpet arrived, it was a very big deal! I had already told them that our project was funded by some amazing and very caring people, and the looks on their faces were priceless. When the carpet arrived at our classroom door, some of the students rushed over to help set it up. Once it was placed on the floor, they couldn't wait to find a nice comfortable spot on their new rug. Since then, we use it many times throughout each day. It has helped our classroom in so many ways! We gather on the rug for every morning meeting, every lesson, and prior to every transition time. Students use it individually and in groups during center work and indoor recess.
Currently, my students are working on identifying main ideas and making inferences in informational texts. They're also working on research reports about animals of their choice. In math, they're currently working on solving multi-step word problems, and in science we're gearing up to learn all about weather and the water cycle. In social studies, we're just wrapping up a unit all about the Pilgrims and the Wampanoags. Much of this teaching and learning time is and will be spent on our amazing new carpet. Again, your thoughtful and generous donation has improved our classroom climate tremendously! The students seem to feel much more comfortable, and from my point of view it now looks and feels more like a true classroom community. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!”
