Can You Hear Math Now?
Funded May 12, 2011I would like to thank all the wonderful donors for their generous contributions. Next year's students will benefit so much by using these headphones for their daily lessons. With monetary concerns in schools across the country, it is reassuring to know that members of the community can be so helpful. I appreciate each and every donation that helped us to meet our goal. We will think of you and DonorsChoose everytime we put them on!”

Math Library and Resource Center
Funded Jan 14, 2010The books, workbooks, and activity books you generously donated to my classroom have already proven to be invaluable in even a short amount of time. I have no doubt that these resources will continue to be an important tool in my classroom.
By providing a variety of math resources for students, including fun books to read, students are able to see that math can be fun and also learn various ways to solve any problems. The math dictionary, in particular, offers students definitions and examples that they can understand and then apply to their classroom work.
I look forward to utilizing these materials even more in the upcoming years and have no doubt that students will continue to benefit from your generosity.
Thank you again!! ”

"Write" Answers
Funded Aug 20, 2009Thank you so much for your donation of white boards to my math classroom. Upon receiving them, students were excited to open them and get to work! The motivation and excitement are priceless!
With the classroom set of white boards, students were able to work problems and provide answers to share with their fellow classmates and also convey their understanding to me. Students are thrilled to use them and more engaged than when simply filling out a worksheet!
Thanks to your contributions, my students are more than will do work math problems that they would normally complain about doing. I am forever grateful to you! My current students and future students will continue to learn and explore math with the help of the white boards!”

In a Paperless World. . . Math Cannot Go Completely Paperless!
Funded May 3, 2009I would like to thank you for your donation of a classroom printer and printer cartridges to my class. After receiving the items, I immediately put them to use in my math classroom. Students are now able to receive instant assignment reprints, grade sheets, and other information. The printer was most useful during one of my favorite activities already this year. Students graph points on the coordinate plane and connect them in order to create a picture. Students' overwhelming responses left me with no more worksheets! Because of the printer, I was able to instantly print them new worksheets and they were thrilled!
Again, I would like to express my sincere thanks to your contribution. It is refreshing to know there are people willing to help out teachers, schools, students, and communities! The ability to print student assignments, information, and grade sheets has proved to be invaluable.”

Classroom Calculators Prepare Students for Future
Funded May 3, 2009I would like to express my gratitude for your generous donation of a classroom set of calculators. Even just half way through the school year, the calculators have been utilized over and over again in the classroom! The calculators have also allowed me to educate students on when to use a calculator to solve a problem.
Although students are unable to use calculators on every assessment, I have empowered students to know the functions and capabilities of calculators. In addition, students are reminded of the need of basic math skills that should not require them to use a calculator.
The classroom set of calculators donated will be used to years to come in my classroom. I, along with all of my current and future students, thank you greatly for your contributions!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Hudecek
