After teaching more than a decade in an upper-middle-income public school, I moved to one of the poorest counties in Wyoming. I teach four preps of math, from Algebra 2 to Trigonometry to Algebra 3 to APCalculus. There is stiff competition for budget dollars, and most technology money is poured into trying to maintain adequate internet accessibility for students and teachers. I am frequently impressed with how this district does so much on its limited funding. One contributing factor to that is the care that students take with the equipment that is available to them. Despite economic hardships, these students are respectful and ready to learn. I am hoping that DonorsChoose will help provide some basic classroom tools to help them do just that. Thanks in advance for considering funding my projects!
