I have such a wonderful, dedicated group of photography students. These are students grades 9-12 and an even mix of boys and girls. Our school currently only offers one photography course, so this is for most of them, the first time they are learning about photography. They are very eager to learn and are always challenging each other to create innovative photos. Their imagination never ceases to amaze me. Our school is made up of several small communities that come together as one. Students come from vastly different backgrounds. About 45% of our students receive free or reduced lunch. The poverty rate in our district is about half of all students. Our school has great educators and administrators, but like many districts, our art budget is becoming smaller and the demand for technology is becoming greater.
