My two second grade math classes are very diverse. I have students still at a low first grade level to those who are at a high third grade level. They are protective of me and each other and try to help each other out. They love doing individual problems and then we have "showdown". They are just beginning to learn time tables and they think they are math whizzes! Dry erase boards are fun, but messy and they go through lots of dry erase markers.
