  • Glow in the Art

    Funded Apr 17, 2024

Thank you so much for your generous support of our Glow in the Art project. We had such a fabulous time showcasing our music under blacklight. The students were excited to create posters and decorate masks that would glow under the blacklights. The students designed large posters that made up the backdrop for our Stomp performance in the Spring. These posters lined the shell behind the students and were glowing under the blacklights.

Students also had their sticks painted so that they would also glow while we performed. Your support helped us to create a really fun experience during our concert. The impact would have not been the same without your support! Thank you so much for your generosity.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Thibodeaux

  • Trikes for Teamwork

    Funded Jan 2, 2024

Our students were able to race the trikes and work together putting together a puzzle during our quarterly team building event as one of their stations. Students were excited to get a chance to ride the trikes. Team building is essential to building positive relationships among both peers and adults. The trikes may seem like a silly thing but they went a long way in helping students work together and build those positive bonds.

The cheers when their teachers were racing were so loud. It was special to see the students in a friendly competition supporting their teachers and peers.

Look for my next project, Glow in the art. I am looking for materials to make glow in the dark art projects for our STEAM night.”

    Mrs. Thibodeaux

  • In Tune Is Music to Our Ears!

    Funded Oct 10, 2022

Thank you so much for your generous donation to our guitar class. We have been using our guitar tuners every class period. They have allowed us to tune quicker as class begins, giving us more time to learn songs. Students were excited to be able to use the tuners and the guitar rack. The guitar rack has helped to keep our guitars stored.

Students are working on staying in tune and playing songs together. They are learning new notes and picking techniques. Students are excited to come into class and the ability to learn guitar.

Thank you for your kind and generous donations! We are very appreciative!!”

  • Launching Our Band and STOMP Program

    Funded Apr 13, 2016

Thank you so much for your donation. We are off to a new year with most band and STOMP students continuing from last year and a whole new group of beginners. Students are excited to be able to finally use a book for themselves and learn to read the music on the page. We are working hard preparing for our upcoming Holiday concert.

The Advanced STOMP class were asked to perform for our District's board meeting in September. You can check it out here if you would like....they perform at the beginning of the meeting. http://livestream.com/accounts/10632146/events/6233691/videos/136403004 They also performed before the meeting in the lobby while my Broadcast students showed board members the promo videos that they had been working on and their video editing skills.

Our two bands and three STOMP groups are excited to be able to perform on the new stage in our campus' brand new cafeteria at the December Park STEAM night which will feature the music program as well as the art program on campus. Both the band and the advanced STOMP performed recently at the Fall Sports pep rally on campus. Your support of our program has made a difference in my kiddos lives and I am so thankful! Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!”

Our school is a STEAM school. We strive to incorporate innovative and new ideas into learning, while trying to build some of the old standards, like band. My students are excited about learning to play instruments and working together in band. They love music and are really enjoying band and STOMP (which is our new curriculum utilizing trash cans and buckets to create music in an ensemble).
