  • Teaching Preschoolers About Tolerance

    Funded Sep 8, 2017

Thank you so much for supporting my classroom. Children need to be introduced to people, places, cultures, and traditions that are not known to them. When they read stories, not only do they learn about how people are different from them, but how they are the same. Children need to learn that there are many ways that people are similar, and unique.

The materials I received were absolutely perfect! The children were able to talk about people and places. They were able to talk about what makes their families special, and make meaningful, personal connections.

    Thank you for your generosity!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Cooke

  • Heart Words

    Funded Jul 22, 2022

Thank you so much for supporting my classroom! Reading and writing are such important skills for our youngest learners to work on. Having the tools and materials at their fingertips, will give them the opportunity to practice these skills in an engaging way. I am looking forward to seeing them read, write, and grow! Thanks again for your generosity!”

  • Bounce Into Learning!

    Funded Jun 16, 2022

Thank you so much for supporting my amazing students! Sitting still is extremely challenging for young children. The bouncy ball seats will allow them to wiggle, have the sensory input their little bodies need, and help strengthen their core! Not to mention they will be super fun! Thanks for your generosity!”

  • Building Words

    Funded Oct 9, 2019

Thank you for donating to my "Building Words" literacy project. Children of all ages learn best through a multi-sensory approach. Having hands on materials that students can use for learning, make a big difference. Using games to teach important skills help to keep learning fun and students engaged.

The Word Builders give students a tool to twist and turn letters to make words. Students can sound out the words and then write the word on paper and use them in a sentence. Students love to have game day in my class! We play "Splash!" which are reading games that practice syllables, sight-words, digraphs, and more!

Thank you for supporting my classroom!”

  • Preschool Construction Zone

    Funded Aug 30, 2017

I can't thank you enough for the new block area rug and foam construction blocks. My preschoolers LOVE them! The block area was rarely used, but since adding these materials, it has become the most popular area in the class! The children spend countless hours building with the realistic looking foam bricks and cinder blocks. They often stack them up as high as they can, and then have fun knocking them over. Since they are made of foam, this is completely safe! They also enjoy building big structures in a square-like shape, and then sitting inside for pretend play. They have become very creative!

Thank you so much for your generosity and support for my classroom!”

  • Healthy Snacks for the Class

    Funded Jun 5, 2017

Thank you so much for donating to my "Healthy Snacks" project. School has just started, but the children are already benefiting from having snacks in the classroom. Most of my preschoolers are three years old, and this is their first time away from their parents. Although we serve meals at school, sometimes children become hungry throughout the day. It has been extremely helpful to be able to pass out a quick snack to the children to tide them over till lunch, or to give a hungry child a snack to take home. One of the most important things I do as a teacher, is to meet children's basic needs. Without their needs being met, they won't fully be able to learn. Thank you for helping to take care of my young learners!”

  • Cooking Up Some Fun!

    Funded Mar 29, 2017

Thank you for donating to my "Cooking Up a Storm" project! We were in dire need of a new kitchen set and props to go with it. Dramatic play is such an important part of our busy classroom. It is where children can go to try out different roles such as being a mom or a dad, a doctor or veterinarian, or a fire fighter or police officer. They learn how to work together and solve problems. They have a chance to talk and listen, and to learn about the world they live in.

The kitchen set has become a classroom favorite! The children love to cook and do dishes. They even enjoy cleaning up and putting things away in an organized manner! So far there have been pretend dinners with family, parties with friends, a restaurant that serves pizza, and a grocery store to buy things. They have been very busy!

Thank you so much for supporting my amazing preschoolers!”

  • Learning Through Music & Movement!

    Funded Nov 30, 2016

Thank you so much for donating to my project. My children were very curious when the boxes arrived to our classroom. They could hardly believe their eyes when we opened the box to find a new CD player and books for our listening center!

The students loved looking at the new books based on familiar songs. When I introduced the CD to go with it, they were extremely excited! This quickly became one of their favorite areas!

The Music & Movement books and CD's have brought so much joy to our classroom. Almost everyday we listen them whether it's in small groups in the listening center or during large group time. Thank you so much for your generosity!”

  • Bilingual Books for School and Home

    Funded Jan 14, 2017

Thank you so much for donating to my bilingual book project. My preschool class is made up of mostly second language learners. Research has shown that the best indicator of a child's school success, is being read to, at home, in their primary language. After receiving the bilingual books, I started a reading club in my classroom.

The book club is planned on a monthly basis. Every month I choose a book for each small group. We read the book in English, several times and do a project based on the story we read. The book is then sent home to be read in their primary language. The children then make a drawing about their favorite part of the story, and their parents help write their words. When they return their books and drawing, we share them with the class.

It has been amazing to see the student's make connections to what their friends wrote, or ask to read a particular book next because it looks so good! This has been very rewarding for us all. Thank you so much for your generosity.”

  • Dress for Success!

    Funded Mar 29, 2017

Thank you for donating to my project, "Dress for Success". My students couldn't contain their excitement when the large heavy boxes arrived at our school. We carefully opened the boxes and saw that it was our new dress-up wardrobe! We read the directions and got to work building our beautiful wardrobe! It took a long time, but we did it!

My student's were extremely excited when we opened the last box and pulled out the boy clothing for our pretend play area! They quickly chose different shirts, hats, ties, and scarfs to wear. In only a matter of minutes, they were busy making food, setting the table, and getting ready for a pretend party!

Since we got these new boys clothes, I have noticed a huge difference in the amount of boys that play in the dramatic play area! Thank you so much for making this happen!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Cooke
