  • Dollhouse Fun!

    Funded Dec 4, 2023

Thank you for donating to my project. I work with students that are in a Life Skills Kindergarten program. They have a variety developmental delays, one of them is language. It is very challenging to encourage language and communication without having interesting, developmentally appropriate play materials.

Pretend play is a wonderful way to encourage language and communications. Having a dollhouse and family dolls has been an amazing addition to this busy classroom! They have been making connections to their home and family by using the beautiful materials. We have been singing songs about homes and families and the children get so excited. I have heard little bits of language as we play and sing!

Thank you for supporting my students. I am so grateful!”

  • Everyone is Welcome!

    Funded Aug 10, 2022

Thank you for donating to my, Everyone is Welcome, project. People are constantly noticing our new rug when they enter my classroom! They love the bright colors and all of the languages that say, "Hello"! I have even had coworkers take pictures of the rug because it is so great! especially since I teach English as a Second Language!

The students love to gather on the rug to write on clipboards or work on learning games. It has become the heart of my classroom. I am so grateful for all of the amazing people that donated to my project. My students are so lucky!”

  • Teaching Through Technology!

    Funded Jan 25, 2018

Thank you so much for donating to my technology project! Students absolutely love technology. As a teacher, I usually prefer playing and learning with other materials, but often technology plays a big role in encouraging reluctant learners to practice important skills. The children have been practicing writing letters, playing letter/sound games, and listening to stories. They have also been writing numerals, counting, and playing matching games. I have noticed that the students that have poor fine motor skills and find it hard to write, are finding themselves successful at making letters on the tablet! They also get very excited when they get the right answers on a math game and there is a big reaction on the screen! This makes them want to learn even more! Thanks again for supporting my classroom!”

  • Can You See It Now?

    Funded Nov 28, 2017

Thank you for supporting my project, "Can You See it Now?". I have been able to use the movie screen both in my classroom, and during family nights. The curriculum program we use has many components that need technology to access them. We were given a projector, but no screen to view it on. We have been using the screen daily to see the stories, poems, vocabulary words, and visuals, that enhance our learning. We have also used the screen during family literacy nights for stories and songs! This makes read alouds so much easier to see in a large group! Thanks again for supporting my classroom. I truly appreciate it!”

  • More Heart Words

    Funded Aug 9, 2022

Thank you for donating to my project! Learning sight words is tricky for young learners. Having fun games that allow students to move and build with their hands, makes learning engaging and fun. The children will love fishing for sight words and building words with magnetic tiles! Thank you so much for supporting my classroom!”

  • 2, 4, 6, 8... Math Games Are Really Great!

    Funded Dec 31, 2017

Thank you for supporting my classroom! Children need multiple opportunities and experiences to learn about numbers and counting. Having fun, hands-on learning materials keeps students busy and learning without them knowing it! Children were able to use the math materials alone, or with a partner. Some activities were used in a small group setting with a teacher.

The students loved all of the math games, but The Rocket Builders and Ice Cream games were their favorites! Thanks for making learning fun!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Cooke

  • Let's Build a Rollercoaster!

    Funded Nov 16, 2017

Thank you for supporting my classroom! Preschoolers learn best by exploring materials in an open-ended, hands-on way. These materials were perfect for that! The engaging magnetic ramps and gears gave children the opportunity to put things together, and take things apart. By doing this, the children were able to figure out how things work in a safe, child-friendly way. Through trial & error, my students learned how to position the track so the gears would keep moving. They were amazed and thrilled when it worked!

  • ABC Time!

    Funded Nov 8, 2017

Thank you so much for supporting my classroom! Children need many opportunities and experiences to learn letter names and sounds. Having fun, hands on materials to practice with, makes learning more engaging. Children are able to learn as they move and play. They are so involved, they don't even realize they are learning!

My students love the Rocket Builders! They are able to build mini rockets for each letter using the letter and two words that start with the letter sound. They are able to work alone or with a small group. They also love the Bingo games that allow them to practice letters and beginning sounds!

Thank you so much for your generosity!”
