Cozy Cubbies
Funded Sep 6, 2023Thank you so much for your donations! We absolutely love our new cubbies! It is so important to provide students with a welcoming and warm classroom environment where they feel safe and valued. By providing these cubbies, you have helped us provide that type of space for our students. We also love our new pencil grips. Many of our students struggle with fine motor skills and receive occupational therapy services in school. The pencil grips help to strengthen their fine motor skills and writing skills.
Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for supporting our classroom.”

Funded Sep 4, 2023Thank you so much for donating the refrigerator to our classroom. Many of our students are food insecure and rely on school to receive their main meals for the day. The refrigerator allows us to provide healthy produce, yogurt, and other fresh foods for the students to snack on throughout the day. We also store food in the refrigerator that students can take home if they need to. Our students' families are doing the best they can to provide for their children, and we feel honored to be able to help them on their journey.
Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for supporting our classroom.”

Funded Aug 31, 2023Thank you so much for helping to supply our classroom with materials we will need in order to have a successful and safe year! The ziploc bags have helped us organize our games and other learning materials, and have also helped us create book baggies so we can bring books back and forth from school to home. We use our magnetic number of the day chart daily to help us count how many days we have been in school. We LOVE getting the fun stickers as rewards! All of the cleaning products help ensure that we can stay healthy and continue our learning.
Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for supporting our classroom.”

Early Literacy for Early Learners
Funded Aug 31, 2023We have been so excited to use all of the resources you have so graciously donated to us! We have used the different literacy games during center time, and have already seen some improvements in our phonics skills. The hands on components to so many of the games really help to engage the students in meaningful ways and bring the material to life. The match it puzzles, alphabet puzzles, and rhyming puzzles help students strengthen their problem solving skills as well as their literacy skills. The prewriting games are helping our most struggling students gain the foundational skills they need in order to be able to get closer to grade level standards.
Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for supporting our class.”

How Does Our Garden Grow?
Funded Aug 11, 2020Thank you so much for providing my students with the resources to allow them to get the hands on learning experience of growing their own garden. So far, we have explored all of the materials and have began learning about a plants life cycle. Through your generosity, my students will be able to see this content brought to life. The end goal of this project is to not only gain an understanding of the life cycle of a plant, but to understand how each living thing contributes to an ecosystem with a focus on conservation. Because of your generous gift, my students will be better equips to make behavioral changes that benefit the environment and be the leaders of future generations.”

Funded Mar 28, 2019Thank you so much for donating to our project! The materials that were sent have helped my students become more independent learners. I am always looking for ways to provide my students with the opportunity to take learning into their own hands. Being in a special education classroom means that I need to think of scaffolds and structures to put in place in order to facilitate this independence. This requires extra planning, flexibility, and accommodations.
One of the key factors in their success in the ability to keep themselves and their materials organized. By providing my students with individual book baggies, they are able to keep their leveled books, reading charts, and goal cards easily accessible so they can easily locate them when learning which in turn will set them up for success during reading workshop. Another component to success in the classroom is the opportunity for students to grow their creativity and have that extra time for some brain breaks. Learning can be a very tedious task, and it is not uncommon for special eduction students to feel burnt out after a very rigorous lesson. The blocks provide them with a creative outlet during these brain breaks. Thank you once again for providing my students with the tools they need to keep their brains clear and busy!”

Help Us Grow Our Reading Muscles!
Funded Feb 5, 2019My students' faces lit up with joy when they unwrapped all of the wonderful and special new books that you have donated to our classroom library. They have had so much fun reading through all of the new books, and have found some new favorite series that they just can't get enough of. Having these new books have increased student engagement tremendously, and have helped them practice the skills they need to improve their reading levels. Now that they have more higher interest texts on their reading level, students are able to read for longer periods of time, thus increasing their reading stamina. We have also been able to increase the amount of books that students are able to keep in their book baggies, which travel back and forth with them to school. This also helps to bridge the home-school gap and facilitate learning even when they are not in the classroom. Thank you for providing my students with the opportunity to grow their reading muscles, and develop a life long love of literacy!”

Flexible Seating for Flexible Learners!
Funded Feb 5, 2019Thank you so much for donating the flexible seating bouncy chairs to our classroom. When my students saw their new materials, our classroom exploded with cheers and smiling faces shown all around! My students have never seen anything like this before in a classroom, so they were beyond excited to put them to use.
Thanks to your generous donation, my students are able to get their energy out in an appropriate way that does not interfere with their learning. The bouncy chairs have helped to increase student engagement, and have also served to help some students remain focused and release their excess energy in a way that does not distract themselves or others from the task.
Being in a special education classroom, I am always looking for creative and innovative new ways to meet my students needs and facilitate as much learning and growth as possible. Thanks to your donation, our classroom has become an even more accommodating environment to all types of learners!”
