Flexible Seating for All
Funded Sep 12, 2024I greatly appreciate the generosity of your donation. Full engagement is what I strive for in my classroom and the new seating will definitely set the stage for this to take place. My students learn from each other and work on their language skills while being able to problem solve in group settings. Thank you, again, for giving them this opportunity!”

Funded Mar 5, 2020My students all have a place for learning on the classroom rug! Whether it's listening to a story, having a class discussion, or participating in a mini lesson, we all have a place to sit. The rug is large enough to supply each student with their very own square, large enough for them to sit comfortably, while they enjoy the lesson. The rug is bright, colorful, soft, and inviting. It just sets the mood for the day in the classroom.
When I first received the rug, we actually had to shut down because of COVID. My students were excited, but we had to leave the rug rolled up to begin remote learning, When the schools began to open again, it was a big surprise for the class and it brought brightness to a very gloomy time. I unrolled the rug and had the listening area all set up with a warm, inviting feel. When students arrived that morning, they immediately noticed the new rug and how pretty it made our classroom.
I have other students that come into my classroom now and get to enjoy the comfort of the rug as well. We have guided reading groups and students switch classes according to reading levels. This is another special time that more students can come into the classroom for learning and I offer a spot on the rug for everyone to enjoy a guided reading group. We greatly appreciate your gratitude!”

Inspirational Writing
Funded Sep 20, 2022Thank you for your generous donation! I can't wait to put these new materials in the hands of my students. My students will be using an online program that will offer them a great selection of books to listen to and now they can enjoy them, using their new headphones, without disturbing their friends. The new supplies coming to our classroom will be a great help to give my students a running start for this new year. Thank you, again!”

Funded Jan 29, 2022We had a great year in third grade, thanks to your generous donations. My students were ables to have the supplies they needed to make learning more fun and concrete for them. We utilized the dry erase markers on a daily basis. They are a great tool for teaching mental math, as they can write the answer and hold up their board. They are also a great tool in solving math problems, sharing ideas, and many more skills. Pencils are a constant need in my classroom and after the donation, we have not had that issue this year. There were plenty of pencils to go around. Thank you again for all the lovely and useful supplies to make the year more positive for my class!”

Exciting New Beginnings in Third Grade
Funded Oct 24, 2019Thank you for all the great start up supplies for our school year. My students have plenty of pencils and erasers to work in the classroom. We have a full cup of pencils to use daily, which makes the day run smoothly. Book bins have also been a great addition! We now have an organized library that students continue to borrow books from.
The letter cut outs from the donation has enabled me to decorate and label areas around the classroom, such as, a word wall and objective board. Students utilize these boards daily to assist them. Because of your generosity, our classroom is a better place!”

Funded Apr 23, 2019Thank you for your generous donation to my third grade class. My students began the year with very few supplies, so the donated materials were extremely needed. Third grade is a year that requires more writing and multiplication skills. My students use pencils throughout the day, which quickly makes our supply deplete. The class was very excited to each receive a brand new pencil and marker of their own, as well as a shared box of sharpened pencils available on demand.
The magnetic sentence strip holders are also quit the big hit! Our English Language Arts program requires a lot of interaction between students and discussion of a shared text. Students begin with discussions about the characters and important story elements. The sentence strips serve as sentence starters to help them successfully contribute to their turn & talk and the magnetic holders provide a nice place for the display of these strips.”

Funded Dec 13, 2018Thank you for your generation donation to our classroom project. My students are busy learning about extreme weather in science, and the wonderful construction paper came in handy for our research. My students researched extreme weather and used the donated construction paper to make a flip book. They made a flap for eight extreme weather patterns, wrote a description in the flap, and drew a picture to illustrate what that storm might look like. Having the paper on hand, within our classroom, made it more meaning full than just reading about it in a text. They also enjoyed having a keepsake to take home as a reminder of all their hard work and research about extreme weather.
The construction paper was also used to create a data board. My students enjoy moving their knight up to the next color, as they demonstrate growth within class. We use the plastic storage drawers to hold our text books and current projects.
My students were very excited when the boxes of supplies arrived and found joy in helping me set it up. We continue to make use out of the supplies and are grateful to be able to have such access to great materials. Thank you, again, for all your support!”

Funded Oct 26, 2018Thank you for your generous donation of scholastic news. My students enjoy keeping up with current events and learning about the world around them. The articles connect to our curriculum as well! We are currently working on a unit about Martin Luther King Jr, and to our surprise, we received scholastic news with an article about his grand daughter. My students were so excited to make the connection and learn how she speaks about important issues just like her grandfather did many years ago. The articles also compliment our writing program as well. I have been able to create writing prompts from the articles we read and I have noticed my atudents' Writing improving through the months.
I included a picture of my current English Language Arts data wall to show how many students are leaving the urgent red zone and entering the zones toward grade level. I'm very excited to see how much reading and writing growth we have by the end of the year. People like you make it possible for struggling schools to provide extra reading support materials to help students. Sky is the limit for our success!”

Funded Aug 10, 2018Thank you for your generous donation to our classroom. My classroom is fairly roomy, with walls that do not work well with tape. This can create a problem when trying to hang important posters or student work. Because of your donation of bulletin boards, this issue is now non existent. The first week of school, I had the new bulletin put up on the walls. One bulletin board is now home to my math word wall, and the other is used for our English Language Arts program. My classroom is now bright and inviting. My students have access to the bulletin boards to view important information that they need to help them succeed.
The markers and crayons that were donated make it possible for every student to have the supplies they need for their creativity. I filled student work buckets with markers and crayons and they have the opportunity to grab a bucket and use the materials when completing work that require markers and crayons. On behalf of myself and my third grade class, we thank you, again!”

Power of Learning!
Funded Jul 25, 2018Thank you for the generous donation to our classroom. My class is already hard at work using the book bins to arrange all their chapter books needed for our new English Language Arts program. These bins keep all the chapter books well organized and safe from damage. My students enjoyed all the colorful decorations on the bins as well. They have already adjusted to a routine of putting their books away after every use.
The speakers were a great addition to our classroom as well. Last year we struggled to hear the instructional videos, due to pour speakers. Our new speakers allow the class the opportunity to listen to clear quality educational videos and have exposure to technology in the classroom.
Recently my school began a new ELA program and this required a lot of supplies. I have brand new posters and small vocabulary cards that used to run the risk of getting worn down and destroyed from year to year. This isn't a problem anymore, thanks to kind donors like yourself. I recently used the donated laminators to protect our materials and make them durable for the years to come.
As you can see, these supplies have made an amazing impact on my class. We are very excited for Spring time, now that we also have beautiful plant labs. Those will come in handy to observe our plants and write about what we observe. Thank you, again!”

Mrs. Savoie
