  • Flexible Seating for Flexible Learners

    Funded Mar 19, 2025

Thank you so much for the new flexible seating options for my classroom. My students will be so excited to have sturdy tall chairs as a seating choice once again. I cannot begin to express my students and my appreciation for your very generous donation. We cannot wait for them to arrive!”

  • Art Drying Rack for Creative First Graders

    Funded Oct 21, 2024

Thank you so much for your donation. We love our art drying rack! We have used it with art projects that need to dry. I've loved it as the teacher because it's very kid friendly to use and their projects can dry neatly in one spot. I used to have to put them all over the counters to dry, which was messy and easily knocked over.

The kids were super excited to see their new drying rack! They loved getting to put their art on it to dry and then retrieve it later.

We will get much use out of the art drying rack, as art is a big part of first grade! We have parent art docents that do projects once a month. In addition, we do many themed art projects in class as well. Our next project is a Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer craft with a red glitter nose that will fit perfectly on the drying rack.”

  • Cozy Spot for Hours of Reading Fun!

    Funded Jul 20, 2023

My students love their new Nugget couch! Students enjoy quiet reading time in a place that is cozy and comfortable. I am trying to create a learning environment that is comfortable and reminds them of home. This increases student's love of learning and makes reading more enjoyable.

My new class was so excited to see our cozy reading area for them to enjoy. They love to partner read or read to self on the Nugget. We choose sticks to decide each day who will get to use the Nugget and keep it fair. We will get years of use from our Nugget and hours of reading time.”

  • LED Grow Lights for Our Classroom Garden

    Funded Nov 30, 2022

Thank you so much for the lights for our Tower Garden! My students are excited every day to see the progress of our plants. We have learned about the plant life cycle and what plants need to grow and thrive.

We now have enough greens to create the opportunity for students to have a salad for snack time. They were very excited and brought their favorite salad dressing the next day! We've talked about not wasting food, as they were able to see how long it took to grow our crop. Students are also able to experience a variety of healthy and sometimes new foods. The garden has provided amazing learning on how food grows that will hopefully last a lifetime!”

  • Supplies for a Diverse and Inclusive Classroom

    Funded Dec 20, 2022

My students and I have been using the Diversity and Inclusion prompt cards and the Social Emotional prompts daily. We use them as we close each day and have had amazing discussions around diversity and inclusion, as well and a variety of social emotional topics. We are working on developing their self-awareness, making responsible decisions, celebrating differences, understanding fairness and developing empathy.

My students have very much enjoyed the discussion prompts and are eager to share their ideas. The cards have also helped build their listening and speaking skills as well! We haven't used the paper yet, but I am excited for when we use paper to create a person and they can make their person look like them. I think they will enjoy seeing themselves represented in future projects.

    Thank you so much!”

  • Chromebook Storage for Tech Savvy Students

    Funded Nov 29, 2022

We absolutely love our new chromebook carts! They have made our day run so much more smoothly. The students are now able to access their chromebook independently. They have a charger clipped right at their spot so they can charge it easily on their own too. There are even bars on the sides where we can hang our headphones. This is great because headphone storage is always a challenge.

Our transitions are now fast and efficient, as I don't have to call students one at a time to pass out and collect their chromebooks. The kids have a spot with their number and their own cord, which has made things much easier. Thanks so much for helping us get these amazing resources! Even our IT guy was impressed and wanted to know all about them.”

  • Leveled Books to Engage Young Readers

    Funded Oct 28, 2021

Thank you so much for the books to add to my classroom library. With the last school year being less than ideal, I noticed I had many more students needing books at a lower level. My library didn't have enough books at the level my students needed to keep them engaged during their reading time.

Each day we do a "read to self" time. Students spend 15 minutes reading books that are at their level. I feel like reading should be a comfortable activity, so I let my students decide if they want to sit in their chair, or get a little more comfortable on the floor with their coat. My students love to read and were so excited to have a larger selection of books to read. When their books are so small, each students needs about 10 books or more a week to keep them engaged for the entire read to self time.

My students that are reading at a lower level were most impacted by our new books. They have more choices and therefore are more eager to read. The books are highly engaging and keep their interest for the entire reading block.”

  • Sensory Items for a Covid Friendly Classroom

    Funded Apr 23, 2021

My students have been loving the new resources: pop-its, foot bands and wiggle cushions! These items have been especially useful during Covid social distancing at school. It has been so helpful to give them the opportunity to move and wiggle, while staying distanced from their classmates.

My students were so excited to see the new supplies! The pop-its were an instant hit, but they also loved the wiggle cushions in fun colors and a rubber band for their feet.

These resources have transferred to my new class of first graders as well. Each seat has a wiggle cushion and rubber band. We have used the pop-its for counting math games as well. I know that these resources will be helpful for classes to come, as wiggling at school is always important, even when social distancing is over.”

    Mrs. Eley

  • Engaging Read Alouds for Emergent Readers

    Funded Oct 3, 2019

Our new books have been a huge hit in my class! We have used to books to accompany weekly thematic lessons. Each week we focus on one of the books and work on a variety of comprehension strategies: retell, prediction, inference, visualization, connections, and character study. We end each week with a fun art project that goes along with the book of the week. My kids are always so excited on Monday to see what our new book will be. The books have allowed for them to gain deeper comprehension because the books are high quality, fun and engaging. We have thoroughly enjoyed our reading units and look forward to many more to come! Thank you for your donation, our love of reading has grown immensely.”

  • Flexible Seating For All Learners!

    Funded Jan 22, 2019

Thank you so much for your donations. My kids absolutely love all of our new seating options! After I told them the project was funded, I was asked daily when everything would arrive. They were excited by all of the new flexible seating and couldn't wait to try each one out! I've noticed that making seating choices has been easier for my students now that there are no "bad choices". Everything is much more durable and comfortable for student learning. My kids understand we are very fortunate to receive these new flexible seats and have been treating them with the upmost respect. Students are able to better choose places that meet their learning needs; whether it's a wobble stool, textured cushion, or an option that helps them sit on the floor. All of the seats are all being used all day, every day by some very eager learners! Thanks so much!”
