  • Extra, Extra Read All About It!

    Thank you so much for your donation to my Kindergarten classroom. These Scholastic Weekly Readers are an amazing resource.

    My students look forward to receiving their weekly readers on Monday mornings.

    They are so eager to read every issue. Each new issue has a specific focus and topic that is relevant in these early learning stages. Most of my students haven't been introduced to the social, emotional and cultural differences among us. The Weekly Reader's have opened us up to a whole new world of learning. We especially love to use them during our reading workshop time. The booklets are a wonderful tool to help with guided reading. As you can see from the pictures we love searching for sight words and reading with our partners.

    We are looking forward to sharing our reading and newfound knowledge with our school community.”

  • K...the Socially Distant Way!

    I'd like to take this time to thank you all for your generosity, especially during this pandemic!

    Your contributions to my classroom have had a tremendous impact on both my in-person and virtual students.

    We were able to use the games and feelings posters to boost our social emotional growth and development. We figured out a way to use these materials virtually and with a safe hands on approach in the classroom.

    We truly hope that in time, socially distancing in Kindergarten will be a thing of the past! Until then we will continue to use your donations to learn and grow in a safe socially distant way.”

  • A Great Way to Start K!

    I'd like to take this time to say thank you for your generosity! Your donations have had such an impact on both myself and my kindergarten students this year. As you can see we have to teach from a distance now. These new kleenslate dry erase boards with the handles help my students to show their work to their teachers and peers from 6 feet apart.

    The new book baggies that you donated also help to keep our books together and it reinforces that we have to keep our items and materials to ourselves as to not spread our germs around.

My students have very bright imaginations! They can tell me verbally what and how they are arriving to their answers, but they need some support. I would like for my students to receive literacy games, math manipulaitves as well as materials to be creative in showing off their understanding especially of the kindergarten Common Core Learning Standards. My students come from very hard and trying backgrounds. It is especially challenging being a new teacher and trying to reach every child with love, compassion and information. My students would be so grateful to have materials where they can build, showcase and produce projects to help others to see what they see.
